Pros: excellent blend of rock and techno Cons: lack of consistency
While I didn't jiz my pants in anticipation of this movie like the rest of the country did, I was very excited to get the soundtrack. Just reading the back of the case told me that I was in for something fun.
Pros: Works for me! Cons: Depends upon your taste…
The Matrix is back and with The Matrix: Reloaded and another soundtrack to boot! Of course, how ironic that the second movie should come out with a two disc CD. So that means I have two CDs to go over. Joy, joy. Well, this ...
Pros: Great soon to be released tracks from Manson and Deftones. Cons: Only two tracks unique to the soundtrack
Since the early days of theatrical musical movie releases, it can be seen that a soundtrack can be an integral part of the movie as well as racking up some considerable sales of its own. Though movies have somewhat moved away from musicals with...
Pros: Stacked lineup, songs capture 'Matrix' feel and mystique Cons: Most songs seem like afterthoughts in the movie
The Matrix Reloaded soundtrack is very similar to the first; in fact, a few of the artists from the first also are contributors. But because of this or another reason, this Matrix soundtrack stands up fairly well compared to its predecessor; one might...
Pros: There is a handful of really good songs on the album. Cons: Most songs already or soon released elsewhere. Not up to par with original Matrix ST.
As the release of the The Matrix Reloaded is coming up really fast these days, the soundtrack for the movie was released early to give people a musical taste of the 2nd Matrix installment.
Pros: Some good dance music. Cons: You have to be a rock/heavy metal person in order to like it.
If you're not a fan of rock and heavy metal, I advise you to stay away. The c.d features singers such as Marilyn Manson, and Rob Zombie. Of course, the two-disc c.d isn't ALL rock. There are some techno stuff that is actually pretty good if you wanted to use it at a dance or party.
My favourite song on the album would have to be "When The World Ends" by Dave Matthews Band. It's somewhat of a dark/sad/quiet song, but it's pretty good to listen to.
I would have to give "The Matrix Reloaded: Original Soundtrack" a 2.5 out of 5. I have to admit that I was really excited when I bought it, but I was disappointed.
