Mechanical Royalty by Babbletron

Pros: No bling or thuggin'.
Cons: Boring atmosphere.

From the moment I seen this album, I figured that this would be almost Company Flow-ish. I thought of ill cuts, scratches and breakbeats. Some of it is there, but it sounds frightningly uninspired. There are no cliches' or catch phrases. There is clever word play here and there, so that's good. It's not a bad album, but the atmosphere it generates is rather boring. The beats are okay, but has that "been there done that" vibe to it. RJD2 lends a hand but I heard better from him. Bored and uninspired is how they sounded doing this and that is how it left me feeling.
