Pros: Emotional, tonally sad and cold, catchy, instrumentation, lyrics, great from start to finish Cons: Not for people looking for a harder rocking sound or people who hate sad music.
Summary: Transatlanticism was the first Death Cab for Cutie record I ever listened to--and I'm sure the same could be said for just about everybody since it was their breakthrough success back in 2003 that spawned them some commercial spotlight. More ... read more

Pros: Balance; lyrics are vivid, arrangements are just enough, never overdone. Cons: Why does the album have to end?
Summary: Betrayal is such a powerful, scathing word, yet one so frequently hurled through the inferno of musical criticism. As if a musical style is a nation, fans expect musicians to hold grand allegiance and loyalty to a genre (or an idealization of a ... read more

Pros: All of it, every last song. Cons: None at all
Summary: Sometimes there are albums that come along and blow you away. Transatlanticism did that to me. So basically don’t expect me to be objective. When it comes to this album, I just can’t be. But maybe you know what I mean, with some ... read more

Pros: Lyrics are pretty clever, good for your emo and/or sleepy moments. Cons: God, Ben, cheer up already!
Summary: Ahh, sweet emo: the genre completely dominated by overly whiny vocals and heartbroken lyrics. Okay, maybe not so sweet when you think about it. But these days, this type of music rules seemingly every teenager in America. Since this holds true, the same ... read more

Pros: It gets better with more listens; lyrics. Cons: Little release.
Summary: Please disregard the text of this review. My views on music have changed in recent months. I wouldn't be lying to say that I originally wasn't too big a fan of Death Cab for Cutie's Transatlanticism. I thought that lead singer Ben ... read more

Pros: Great new sound, good tracks Cons: only ONE track that is lacking
Summary: Emo faves, Death Cab For Cutie has pretty much gone under the radar unnoticed building up a fan base that has grown with each CD they have released. Transatlanticism shows Seattle rockers expanding into a rather more pop appraoch evident in more ... read more

Pros: Well-written, good the first couple times Cons: Over the top emotion, very pessimistic, too complacent, whiny vocals, gets old quickly
Summary: Death Cab For Cutie's Transatlanticism is like a new friend: at first, their honesty and raw emotion may seem refreshing, but after hanging around them for awhile, it sounds more and more like incessant whining and you try to avoid them at all ... read more

Pros: Everything. Cons: Nothing. Well maybe the album title is hard to type and say.
Summary: Capsule Review I know a great record when it takes its time to really hit me the right way at the right moment. It took a few times for this album to really sing to me in its simplicity. Oddly enough, I catch up to a lot of record listening ... read more

Pros: Great writing, music. Title track stands as the best track. Cons: Weak second half
Summary: As an indie rock fan, I should be required to atleast check out Death Cab For Cutie. After hearing about how good they are, I asked for suggestions on what albums I should get. However, every album suggested didn't click with me. Yes, even "The Photo A ... read more

Pros: lyrics. vocals. song order. melodies. everything. Cons: nada
Summary: Is there a song on here that I couldn't listen to over and over again? ... I don't think so. If anything, this album leaves me completely content. It takes the listener through the ins and outs of a relationship - from love to doubts to breakups to
