In 2006, I went to NYC for a choir/band trip and got to see my first ever broadway musical. I have always wanted to become a performer of some kind, perferably a singer, but introducing me to Wicked, made me realize THAT'S what I wanted to do. Ever since seeing that show, I have wanted to be a WICKED cast member! I tell you what, this musical is simply amazing, words just can't explain it. It's the funniest thing I have ever seen, yet it brought tears to my eyes numerous times. Being a music major, I tend to notice everything to do with music in everything. The music is simply perfect, that's all I can say. It's so powerful and you never know what's coming. The lyrics are amazing and Shwartz did an AWESOME job at writing it all. I dont know how he did it but WOW. I must say, everytime I listen to the CD I get goosebumps when the powerful parts of the song come up, it's something that doesn't happen often and It's one of a kind. This musical hits the top of the top and is still going great!

This soundtrack is so much fun! Exceptional performances are given by the entire cast, but especially Idina Menzel who really rocks out on "Defying Gravity" and gives wonderful, candid performances throughout the entire disc. Kristin Chenoweth stands out as well, shifting from operatic diva to cutsie character left and right. The chorus is a blast (wait til you see the show!). You can tell they're having a great time. This album on a Grammy, and it's easy to hear why.
