Pros: Passionate, unique, great vocals, excellent songwriting. Cons: Two weaker tracks that are kind of boring.
I had never heard of Dana Mase in my life when I was rifling through the various CD's at the Denver Public Library. Then I saw these brilliant blue eyes penetrating from the frame of a pale face and I grabbed the CD and put it on my stack. The ...

Pros: Soft, lilting, and exactly the direction female rock should be heading. Cons: Perhaps a bit too mellow for some, but they're missing out.
It seems immediately refreshing to have a new female voice hit the scene that doesnt have to fit the cookie-cutter mold of teen rebel or sex vixen. In one fell swoop Dana Mases (or Dana as shes known on her second album ...

Thread of You cannot live without this album!!!

Pros: Strong songwriting, beautiful vocals and arrangements Cons: May be too tasty for the untrained ear
For any fan of well-crafted songwriting and perfect arrangements, this is a must. Not to mention that Dana has a wonderful voice as well. This is her fourth album and each one gets better and builds upon the last. This is her swan song.
There are shades of eastern influences in addition to the flowing, lush pop that is her strong suit. Any fan of Sarah Mclachlan, Shawn Colvin, Jewel, Suzanne Vega, Bjork, the Corrs, Alanis Morrissette, Dido, or even Enya would love this album.
Its beautiful, moody music. The praise this album has received from critics is justified.

A Masterpieces of Musicianship and Songwriting
by napoulos ,Jan 29 '04
Pros: diverse, soothing, uplifting, beautiful, melodic Cons: starts off slow
When I first picked up this CD I didnt know that I would be completely blown away by the beauty and pure artistry of this album. It is an incredible mix. What I loved most about this album is that it did not sound like the same song over and over but with different lyrics. Each song is a unique harmonious blend of acoustic and synthesized sounds, topped with Danas incredible vocals. She has such a unique and almost ethereal sounding voice you will be drawn into listening to the entire CD in one sitting. The opening track Thread of Blue has a very eastern and meditative type of that immediately draws you into more incredible like Seraphim and Seagulls which is an uplifting and rockin track. Love Set Free is another song on this album that is a touching and beautifully written and performed love song. I would recommend this album to anyone who is a fan of beautiful music and incredible song writing.
