Pros: The Coldplay references, Brandy's sense of melody, the vocal arrangements. Cons: Timbaland's production, too generic sounding, lack of personality.
A little over a decade ago, Brandy was THE fresh-scrubbed R&B/pop teen idol. In contrast to the wise-beyond-her-years sass of Monica and the icy cool sensuality of Aaliyah, Brandy was the fresh-scrubbed innocent of the bunch. She sang sugary-sweet love ...
Pros: Brandy's vocals. A few stellar tracks. Cons: Too many effects.
Brandy Norwood has grown up in front of America. From the cute and bubbly R&B singer to the growing teen on television, to a grown woman starting a family and trying to evolve her career into a more mature area. And on this her fourth album, titled ...
Pros: Brandy has a one of a kind voice and knows how to use it. Cons: Sometimes the producers don't.
Brandy is a singer I have always had a hard time reviewing. There are times when I love her laidback, raspy style and there are other times I feel she is boring and repetitive. Never Say Never was a very impressive album with Brandy picking some ...
It took me a while to truly decide how I felt about Brandys new jawn, Afrodisiac. A coworker of mine (who is also a big fan) asked me if it was good and I immediately said, Its good but its not as good as Full Moon. ...
Pros: TImbaland's impressive production skills, especially on the title track and "I Tried". Cons: Overlong and bloated. Tendency towards musical repetition that detracts from the other qualities.
While recent legal and personal disputes have placed R&B songstress Brandy under the spotlight for all the wrong reasons, she remains one of the mainstream industrys more interesting and sonically identifiable performers. Going from her sweetheart ...
Pros: Brandy’s best vocals; good lyrics; excellent production; more mature material Cons: Brandy wrote squat; no Rodney Jerkins; no chemistry; some weak lyrics
Webster defines an afrodisiac (aphrodisiac) as something that arouses or increases sexual desire or potency. Im not quite sure if Brandys new album does that but its definitely an enjoyable, or to a lesser extent, tolerable ...
For the past 10 years, we've watch Brandy grow from a bubbly, sweet teenager to an intelligent, beautiful woman. Just the past 2 years, Brandy has been through a lot from being a mother to divorcing her husband. Also, she replaced Rodney Jerkins with ...
When I saw Brandy Norwood climb up into the role of Moesha on the show of the same name, I became very interested in her musically and as an actress. She was singing songs like "I Want To Be Down" and I could interpret every song on her debut ...
Pros: This would've been Brandy's most personal album yet... Cons: ...if she would've written some more of the damn lyrics.
From her television debut (as far as I know, anyway) on Thea to now, I can honestly say that I've been a big fan of Brandy's the whole way. Granted, I've never bought a single album of hers, but I've admired her, her music and her acting ...
Pros: Simply amazing. Continuous great music straight through- no fillers. Cons: No complaints!
Okay, it would be cliche` to say that Brandy gets better with age but what other cheesy catchphrase could perfectly describe her continuous artistic development as the aforementioned? AFRODISIAC is everything you would expect from Brandy (and more) and ...
Pros: Genuine, heartfelt and skilled vocals; good beats, too. Cons: Too much layering; less vocal clarity; and what is TI doing on here?
Afrodisiac is a touching glimpse into the soul of a woman who has experienced and overcome a great deal of turmoil; a lifelike blending of sadness and happiness, softness and edginess. There was still some of the busyness that detracted from ...
Pros: great sounds, tell a story Cons: some weak songs
Brandy has always been an artist I greatly respected. I have liked her since her days on TV show Moesha and her singing days from 'The Boy Is Mine'. I really loved her albums from her last 'Full Moon' and this one is even better. This is Brandy's fifth ...
Pros: Wide range of tempo, great harmonies and production Cons: Still not Timbaland's best effort in the production realm
Brandy has been in the music business ever since she was a teenager. She broke into the music scene around the same time that Aaliyah and Monica did back in the 90s. As she progressed in her career, she has had a number of successful CDs. Probably ...
Pros: A few good dance tracks, "Should I Go" is a great closer. Cons: Overexposed rappers and overproduced music.
Im sure we all remember the young, producer's puppet by the name of Brandy Norwood. She had a little success in the 90's with her boring self-titled debut album and her sophomore follow-up, 1997's "Never Say Never". The she had an eating disorder and ...
Pros: She's a consistent artist. The music speaks for itself. Cons: The yelling of the announcer on Turn It Up.
"It used to be a few artists at a time, now even the veterans waited in line..." speaks, Brandy on her latest disc Afrodisiac. Afrodisiac finds a much more mature Brandy vowing to find her place within the music industry. Since parting ways with former ...
Pros: A great effort from Brandy. Cons: No power ballads on this one.
B-Rocka's back on the grind or as she so states on the track Should I Go. I must say that I am a fan of Brandy's work and while this is not her best album it is still a great album. In my opinion, Brandy has a pure and husky voice (when she ...
Pros: She has got back in the game and still going strong. Cons: Timberland doesn't have to introduce the tracks for her a lot.
Brandy is an amazing artist. She has grown very much in her music. She has shown us different parts of her life. AFRODISIAC describes her so well of what she has been through. When she divorced her husband and still kept her daughter. She was out of the ...
Pros: amazing meaningfull lyrics and beats. Every, and i mean every song is good Cons: there are none.if your into real music this is it!!!1
The lyrics in all of her songs on ths cd are so meaningful. You feel like your were right beside her when she went through the things she describes on her cd. You know a cd's good when you listen to the songs, and burst into tears because you feel her ...
Pros: Afrodisiac, Talk About Our Love, Finally, I Tried, Where You Wanna Be Cons: Sadiddy, album fillers, corny/cliche lyrics, sounds basically the same
Afrodisiac - obviously a play-on-words for "aphrodisiac" but I still don't know what "Afrodisiac" means..
My fav tracks are: Afrodisiac, Who Is She 2 U, Talk About Our Love, Finally, I Tried, Who I Am, Where You Wanna Be... the rest are okay/album fillers. Surprisingly, all of the songs basically sound the same...don't get me wrong. I LOVE this album but I'm just sayin - Brandy could've gotten different producers because in the end, the beats sound the same.
What was disappointing was.. Brandy only co-wrote one of the songs on the whole entire album. She used to write more on albums but whatever - the lyrics are still good. Except there was a few cliches that get corny.. like in "Who Is She 2 U" but you get over it. This is definetly different for Brandy... more of a pop R&B sound than ever.
If you're a fan of Full Moon (more songs sounding basically the same and pop r&b), then you'll love this album like I do.. but if you're more of the Never Say Never and Brandy albums (more R&B) then this album will be probably just okay to you.. it's kinda hard to say.
brandy deserves to be artist of the year because Afrodisiac all hell th queen by freak694life ,May 27 '05
Pros: brandy who i am,where u wanna be, and should i go are big hits Cons: brandy back in the spotlight with all the hits on her new album Afrodisiac perfection

Pros: Not boring, vocals, she kept it simple Cons: Didn't explain much about where shes been, didn't promote the CD either.
Talented beautiful Brandy does it again. Although she didn't receive credit for the Afrodisiac album, this CD was average. It was worth the seventeen bucks I spent on it. A lot of people slept on Brandy returning to her music roots. The Rhythm on her CD was awesome. She sings alot about being hurt by men, or her Ex with hip loud vocals supported by Timbalands' beats. Only one guest appearance which was Kanye West. There weren't any interludes, just a CD full of sorrow behind the disappointments of men. Sorry Brandy you should of been prepared for that one. The CD is a plus to have part of your Brandy collection. I give it one thumb up.
Pros: Brandy rides every beat so freely. She can hit those bass notes like a dream! Cons: You find yourself wanting more, possibly a tactic to get you to buy more!
Aaah, we all can exhale. Brandy has delivered with her highly anticipated, overdue, clever, latest release! Many may wonder what else can you talk about, after 3 albums of R&B. Well, nothing new, of course, however Brandy repeats her themes in such a cool, and beautiful way. Brandy's afrodisiac is any music lovers dream. With lush beats, driving melodies, contrast, and amazing tone, Afrodisiac gives us a different perspective of the music world. I must say, after four albums I still cannot read Brandy. I have no clue of who she is. But this girl, does have relationship issues. One minute she loves you, the next minute she hates you, the next minute it's your fault she hates you, the next minute she doesnt know why you hate her! Stand Out Tracks: Sadiddy, Focus, I Tried, Where You Wanna Be, Finally, and Say You Will.
Pros: Everything, especially the song Sididdy. Cons: Not a single thing!
I've been a Brandy fan since her self titled Cd first came out back in 1994. I've been a fan through her hit tv show 'Moesha' and her other albums. I recently got her new album Afrodisiac and I must say she is a totally new person! In this album she has defined that she is no longer a child and she is a woman and ready for the world. If you're not a Brandy fan, once you go out and get this album, trust me you will be!
Afrodisiac is sensuous, soulful, even a little gritty, an album that showcases Brandy s passionate voice and announces in no uncertain terms that she ...More at Buy.com Marketplaces
