Pros: Some nice songwriting in places, decent voice Cons: Too boring and familiar, sounds like a lot of other people.
When “Breathe (2 a.m.)” I was more than ready to buy into the hype and take a nice healthy inhale of newest singer/songwriter Anna Nalick. I listened to the album on Napster a few times and then when nothing really failed to stick I moved on to other ...
I wonder if the music world even cares that Anna Nalicks debut Wreck of the Day hits store shelves this Tuesday. I mean lets be honest, there are no obvious traces of a pierced belly button, eye-catching cleavage, or scumbag ...
Pros: a little bit of everything Cons: not much to speak of
Every so often in the music industry, there tends to be a movement of young artists with a sound geared to nearly mimic some of the more established acts, in order to work on eventually replacing them in their position of power. While the new artist ...
Pros: A pure singer/songwriter record Cons: please
I guess you could call me a purist when it comes to singer/songwriter records. The ones I enjoy the most are the ones that are simply just that; singer/songwriter records. The records that don’t pay too much attention to detail and aren’t too ...
Pros: good voice, some variety of songs, no overkill, not overplayed on radio Cons: some songs are too mellow, compared to some heavy hitters in industry may overshadow her
I first heard "In The Rough" a few times on the radio which caught my attention of this sometimes-esoteric artist due to its chorus which I could belt at the top of my lungs in my car: "Somedaaaaayyyyy love will find me... in the rooouuuggghhh" I found ...
Pros: Beautiful voice, simplicity, nice lyrics, a few outstanding songs Cons: Angst, a couple songs that don't work with her voice, not much originality
The Big Picture A friend had told me for weeks that there was this song on the radio that she knew I'd love. She tried to sing me a bit of it, but she couldn't remember many of the words, and it didn't come up when I used Google. Then I ...
Pros: talented songwriting, awesome voice range Cons: overproduction
Talented young female songwriters tend to have a very rough time in this business. They come along, have a hit song or two and disappear. Anna Nalick is a talented songwriter for her age with a solid grasp of how to match lyrics and melody. Her voice has ...
Pros: Great lyrics and vocals Cons: none in particular
20 Year old newcomer Anna Nalick leaves a lasting impression with her freshman effort "Wreck of the Day". Tracklisting: 1. Breathe (2am) 2. Citadel 3. Paper Bag 4. Wreck of the Day 5. Satellite 6. Forever Love (Digame) 7. In the Rough 8. In my ...
Pros: Catchy, thoughtful, and beautiful songs. Cons: Nothing bad about this.
The first time I heard "Breathe (2AM)," I was drawn in by Anna's crisp and beautiful voice, not to mention the nice melody. Extremely impressed by her singing on a live radio performance, I knew I wanted to see her perform live which, to me, is the true test of an artist's vocal abilities. I purchased her CD to prepare for the event and couldn't put it down! I loved every single song on the "Wreck of the Day" album and that has never happened to me for any artist before. Anna also gets tons of brownie points for writing her own music! After seeing her in a concert, I became an even bigger fan. Mesmerized by her stage performance, the audience quickly learns that Anna's personality is beautiful just like her voice, lyrics, and her, of course. You owe it to yourself to check out "Wreck of the Day."
Anna Nalick is the next best thing; a great voice and exceptional good lyrics. by lieke ,Jul 01 '05
Pros: Bleed: Beautiful song, great lyrics
Forever Love: Very emotional.
Catalyst: Slow and deep.
Cons: Citadel: Still above average!
I first heard one of her songs from the soundtrack of 'A lot like love'. I thought Breathe was a very inspired song, so I immediately downloaded every song of her. And she didn't let me down.
Every song has a superb text and Anna's voice gives it the deeper meaning it needs. Bleed, Forever Love and Catalyst are my favorites. The combination of the emotion in her voice and the wonderful lyrics make her my idol. No Britney and no Jessica Simpson: Thank God! A very talented writer and singer and I can't imagine we won't be hearing more of her soon!
