Pros: She3's got a pretty voice. Cons: The material is left overs and she doesn't have the experience to warm them up.
Diana DeGarmo, a bubbling fountain of youth and personality on AI this past season, released her debut album this week. Rightfully finishing second behind Fantasia Barrino (truth be told she should have been behind Latoya London)I did anticipate her ...
Pros: Chipper pop/rock; Diana’s vocals Cons: it's all been done before (and better)
Diana DeGarmo was such a memorable contest on American Idol not just because of her powerhouse voice but also because of her cheery personality. She was so bubbly and full of life and so chipper that it was practically contagious while at the same time, ...
Pros: zzzzzzzzzzz.......... Cons: zzzzzzzzzzz..........Huh? Was I supposed to do somet.....zzzzzzzzz......
zzzzzzzzzzz........Oh? Then I Woke Up. Hmmm....what to do, what to do? It's Friday night and the people didn't invite me to their party. And I don't wanna go to school on Monday because I cheated on a test. I know! I can review Diana DeGarmo's ...
Pros: Bright lilting fun along with highly emotional ballads Cons: Needs another ballad like "Go On and Cry" or more 'Country' music.
Since I am a member of the DianaD.com fan club and forum, I was anxious to get the CD and listen to it. AI CD's don't have a great rep in some areas so I was quite concerned that Diana may not have been given the opportunity to show her stuff so to ...
I watched Diana DeGarmo from her first audition in January to the American Idol finale in May and I can honestly say I have never fallen in love with a performer faster than I did her. She wowed us with pipes that rival Aretha Franklin and Judy Garland. After the show was over, I couldn't get enough of her and waiting for the album was torture.
Blue Skies was all I could have ever hoped for and more. The wide range of songs shows off her vocal talent greatly. From slow ballads like "Go On And Cry" to powerhouse "Then I Woke Up", well, there isn't a disappointing song on the album. At such a young age, she is entirely capable of working her wide range of talent and song style. Blue Skies is a hit in my household from the youngest at age 8 to the oldest at age 75. I definitely recommend Blue Skies for everyone. If you didn't love Diana before, Blue Skies will set you on your way!
Pros: A little bit of everything, shows off Diana's true vocal ability and talent Cons: I wish there were more songs so I could listen to more Diana!
After anticipating the debut CD of Diana DeGarmo for so long, I have to say that I was more than impressed; blown away is more like it. I knew she had talent, I've been a fan of hers since I first saw her on American Idol, but this is much more than that. "Blue Skies" shows that Diana has what it takes to make it in the music business, even if some people refuse to admit it. This CD is full of all different kinds of music, which in my opinion is great because there's something for everyone, and it shows that Diana can pull off many different types of music. This is one of those CD's that I can listen to from beginning to end, over and over again, without getting tired of it. By playing "Blue Skies" for my friends and family, I have recruited quite a few new Diana fans because they are able to recognize her talent just as I have. Diana has an amazing God-given talent, and I'm glad she's begun to put it to good use on "Blue Skies." My CD collection would not be complete without this gem!
Pros: Everything. Great voice. Flawless. Cons: Some cheesy lyrics.
This album has a little something for everyone. Young, old, tall, short, fat, thin, whatever. Diana shows she's got the pipes. Some songs that I wouldn't have expected her to sing but she pulls them off so well, that you just think who cares. She did a wonderful job on all the songs, especially Cardboard Castles, Go On And Cry, Till You Want Me and Dream, Dream, Dream. She's got a long career ahead of her so I'd suggest sit back and enjoy the ride. Buy this CD, if you don't its your loss.
A star is born - The voice of the decade by spanishfan ,Dec 29 '04
Pros: This album has something to please all ages. Her voice is beautiful. Cons: Not having enough of the new material of Diana.I want more.
I have just received my Blue Skies in Spain. It is absolutely fantastic. She has a god-given talent. From the beautiful moody Go On and Cry, showing her vocals to the full, to the happy verbal gymnastics of Then I Woke Up and the amazing Cardboard Castles, Emotional and one of my favorites, Till You Want Me, my family and I were entertained. This album has something for everyone. Thank you for Blue Skies Diana.
Pros: Album not boring. Vocals are clean. Mix of songs grow on you with repeated listening. Cons: Diana may still be finding her feet in terms of musical niche.
I like artists who sing clearly and have pure vocals. Diana's debut album showcases her versatility in musical genres and the material is excellent. Songs range from pop to rock and include several outstanding ballads especially David Foster's "Go on and cry." The tracks are not over produced and this album definitely deserves to be heard.
Pros: There is something for everyone on this cd! She has an amazing voice! Cons: There are NO cons to Diana's music! Everyone I have had listen love it!
Diana's new CD Blue Skies is just amazing! She has just a great voice! All the songs are wonderful and there is something for everyone! Its not just one type of music, but has a variety! You will not regret buying this CD!
Pros: Everything, honostly Cons: her voice was somewhat overpowered on some parts
The first time you listen to this CD you think ,well, it's not that good,, its average. But when you begin to rest and the next day its almost like you have this obsession inside your head. You are humming the songs and you can't wait to get back home to listen to it over and over. I personally love all the songs in there own ways, yes i have my favorites, but they're all enjoyable for people of any age. I made my mother a copy and she loved it(shes 55) and my younger sister(shes 16) they always put her on in the car and tell me how much they love different songs. Degarmo's voice is very sweet and it hugs you as she sings. The one star reviews are quite hanus because they all seem to be by Fantasia Barrino fans for some reason not rationalizing that the competition is over, they are completely different artists! Support your favorite and stop hating. The skies are a bit hazy at first, but in the end, Diana comes through and it's the most beautiful blue skies i've ever seen. It's a must have for your collection
