I was first introduced to the three piece band Guster about three years ago. Having formed at Tufts University here in Massachusetts, and having developed an intensely loyal fan base, Guster began garnering an awful lot of local acclaim from the t ...
Pros: "Careful"; varied sonic pallette; almost immaculate in craft and performance. Cons: Stubbornly, not a masterpiece, damn it all.
I often dream of alternate realities in the music industry. Considering the sheer volume of acts that exist, available for consumption by average Joe or Jane Q. Recordbuyer, an infinite amount of alternate-reality scenarios exist. Sometimes, I dream that ...
Pros: Catchy and thought provoking lyrics Cons: Nothing special. average, steady, unchanging... verging on boring.
Being a veteran Guster fan from way back in the days of Goldfly and Parachute, it was only natural for me to pick up Keep It Together when it was first released. On first listen, I immediately noticed a disconcerting change from previous albums. For ...
Pros: Backyard, Keep it together, red oyster cult, and ramona Cons: Diane
Guster is a great band over all. Ever since I heard of them, I have liked them. This album makes me like them even more.
Red oyster cult caught my attention in the beginning. It's a new sound, and it sounds awesome. My advice is to only listen to it once in a while or it might get a little boring.
Keep it together is probably the best song on the album, followed by amsterdam, I hope tomorrow is like today, backyard, and ramona. I can't get any of those songs out of my head! Homecoming king and careful are two cool upbeat songs, but I think they're melodicly mediocre. I don't understand Jesus on the radio. It's an o.k. song, I just don't get it. Long way down is kindof a boring song, but is catchy in some areas, same thing with come downstairs and say hello. Diane Is the worst song on the album in my opinion, but it's still o.k. because the whole album is awesome!
