Pros: A Few Good Tracks Cons: Second Half Sucks; Boring Melodies, Weird Songs, and Stupid Themes
The Clash has been around forever and theyre gonna be here for forever more. Everyone was always telling me that if I listened to punk rock then I should put on some Clash music since they were the punkest of the bunch. I put it off for a while ...
Pros: politicised, rhythmic, fabulous Cons: experimentalism may put some off
For many hard core fans of The Clash, this album is the start of their decline in the first half of the 80's. An album which all round wasn't as strong or intricate as their masterpiece albums of the late 70's, such as London Calling and ...
Pros: The first half of the album shows promise Cons: The second half really doesn't match up, many mediocre songs
The Clash started their career around the Sex Pistols era, and played their way to the top, proving that they could take punk rock much further than the primitive Sex Pistols' style. With every album, they mixed more and more into their music, showing tha ...
Pros: Some absolute classic rock songs Cons: Sean Flynn, Death is a Star is a poor finisher
Combat Rock is an album I have had for a while, but have only grown to appreciate lately. I purchased it on route somewhere on holiday, from the hellhole that is London Stanstead Airport. I bought it at the same time as odds-and-ends release Super Black ...
Pros: Interesting album tracks, Straight to Hell, terrific singles. Cons: Ghetto Defendent, Death is a Star, sample of "2,000 Flushes" commercial during "Inoculated City."
This album has been called a sellout by some Clash fans, just because of "Rock the Casbah" and "Should I Stay or Should I Go?". However, they don't realize this album has many wonderful, eccentric songs. To me, it sounds like a shorter version of ...
Pros: Strong content Cons: A couple of bad pieces of music lurk on this album
I've read a lot of reviews through the years about this album, and I'm not sure why so many people hate the thing. I've read things claiming the Clash had "sold out" with Combat rock, that the band went pop all of a sudden, and the like. ...
Pros: Solemn power in popularis Cons: The whole, alas, is not as mighty as a sprinkling of the parts
One evening I took dinner with my great epinions friend ALawston, to a fabulous banquet of smoked Osteichtyes fillet, pipingly roasted potato and the fruits of the gardens of merry England that once was. After many a glass of Blue...
Pros: Digitally remastered=Tremendous Sound Quality &....it's the Clash! Cons: none at all
"This indecision's bugging me".
I always thought I couldn't understand the Clash on the song "Should I Stay Or Should I Go" because they were speaking some incoherent punk phrases. Turns out they are speaking a foreign...
Pros: the whole first half of the album(first 7 songs) Cons: the second half of the album(last 5 songs)
ok so this album is unliked by a whoole lot of clash fans..although i like it.its true that the second half of the album kinda sucks..but the first half is REALLY good. personally, i think this album is ABIT under-rated. although the second half of this album isnt all that great. the first half is amazing.
know your rights, car jamming, should i stay or should i go, rock the casbah, red angel dragnet, striaght to hell, and overpowered by funk, are some of my FAVORITE SONGS EVER. wwhich makes up for the not so impressive second half of the album. also, gotta love the political messages.
