Pros: Lots of fun and well done Cons: Long for little ones, you have to "get it"
I went to see Fantasia 2000 becuse I love animation, and Animation on the Imax is a MUST for me. Every one has seen the origional Fantasia, some people love it and some hate it, others just don't get it. I think that the same will be true of Fantasia...

Pros: Animation, Music, Celebrity Cameos, Sound Quality, Picture Quality, Everything... Cons: It's leaving theatres
I went to see this movie with my high school orchestra. I was excited to see it, getting out of school to watch a movie is great. I've got a HUGE case of senioritis, so that was fun, but I am a lover of classical music. I felt I would be listening to...

Pros: Perfect in IMAX Cons: Too loud and big for small children (under 5)
We recently saw Fantasia 2000 recently while on a trip. We were unable to see it at our local IMAX because of Disney's demands for commitment from the theatres so we had to wait until we were in a town that offered it. It was worth the wait.

Pros: music, animation, heart Cons: introductions by Midler, Lansbury
Fantasia 2000, currently showing at IMAX theatres across the country, is an incredible experience of a film, literally towering over much of the January/February Hollywood fare. The classic Disney feature "Fantasia" is not repeated...

Pros: Spectacular animation. Cons: Needless, instantly dated celebrity cameos; some uneven segments.
Stunning. Breathtaking. Spectacular. These are but three adjectives that will certainly be used to describe Fantasia/2000, Disney's long-in-the-works update of its 1940 classical-music-set-to-animation "work-in-progress,"...

Pros: great as an IMAX film - great selection of segments Cons: Disney needed more time for story board development
It may seem that I didn't like Fantasia 2000 from this Epinion, but it is on my Love List for a reason. This movie was long due: it had been Walt Disney's intention to release a new fantasia every few years with new segments added. Now, from January -...

Pros: Beautiful, in both music and animation Cons: May not be for children under 5As a
I saw Fantasia 2000 a while back in its IMAX form (I live in North Carolina where the only IMAX theater was not playing it, so I had to see it in Florida), and I thought I'd share my thoughts on the film. Now that it is out on video and DVD, we probably...

Pros: Wonderful variety of segments, more laughs than the original, great emotional points Cons: Fairly short
"Fantasia 2000" is a glorious descendant of its ancestor. With 7 new pieces and 1 original, the entire film is a joy to experience. I myself have seen it 3 times and am simply counting down the days to the 4th (and more--at...

Pros: Lovely, lovely. Go see it. Cons: Relies to heavily on already obsolete technology and technological constructs. If you try to watch it anywhere but in an IMAX setting you will experience only part of the experience this film is.
The dawn of a new age. So sayeth the pundits and denizens of the news media.
The dawn of a new age? Really? Perhaps it would have more truthful to say: Old is new again.
With a twist or two, appropriate to the time and age. ...

Pros: Amazing in every way Cons: Some people will love to hate it.
I must admit that when I went in to see this movie, I was slightly skeptical about the whole thing. Being a music teacher, I am very often afraid of going into a theater just to hear butchered interpretations by mediocre at best performers. When I saw...

Pros: Old and new animation meshes with scores Cons: Not a children's movie; IMAX ticket price a bit high
As I entered the IMAX theatre, I wondered if this 'classic' was going to be re-mastered with narrative, or become a whole new piece. It was both; but I realized that only AFTER leaving notions of more modern Disney animated movies at home.

Pros: great animation Cons: lowbrow music, dumbed-down writing
Walt Disney's "Fantasia/2000" opened New Year's Day, 2000 at IMAX theaters all over the country. It's a continuation of the original "Fantasia" (1940), following Disney's original plan to re-release the feature every few years with...

Pros: Some exciting moments Cons: Some rather too cute sections
The original Fantasia was one of my favourite films, so F2K had a lot to live up to. Initial reviews were somewhat critical, so I had my doubts, but while the new version is no masterpiece it is certainly worth the price of admission and I imagine anyone...

Pros: Awesome animation and music Cons: nothing whatsoever
Disney decided a few years ago to remake a timeless classic for the new millennium. They couldn't have picked a better movie than Fantasia. If you're into classical pieces, you'll enjoy this movie to the fullest. Everything from Beethoven's 5th...

Pros: Though-provoking, moving, captivating Cons: Not general or broad enough for all viewers to enjoy.
Disney is known for outstanding work in their films, whether live action, animated or a hybrid of the both. Once again, Disney has not failed in their deliverance of an astonishing masterpiece, with the magic not taking place on the screen, but in the...
