I first saw "The breakfast club" on a saturday on tnt. i was enchanted by the plot it was the greatest thing i had ever seen. im just a kid but i loved it.
this movie is great. it depicts 5 totally different teenagers who at the end...
This movie is one that I have seen over and over again. This movie is absolutely amazingly well written, performed, and directed. The plot is really kinda dumb, in that these students must spend their Saturday in detention, but the way it is written,...
"The Breakfast Club is a Perfect Example of a Solid Teen Movie" by zenmachado, ,Nov 09 '06
Pros: The script is emotional and makes a splendid movie out of one day in detention. Cons: Maybe that its from the eighties.. but naw.. not really..
It almost seems redundant to place any words here, for "Breakfast Club" is already hailed by many others as a perfect specimen of a movie. Yet, I write this now, only to make it known that yes, indeed, I as well very much value B.C. as being a superb film.
In the best of ways Breakfast Club captures the very essence of high school in its script. The confrontations that the characters have, are on target with the type of conflict that occur in school.
It is solid in dramatic content but is furious in its comedic portions. I loved Judd Nelson in this... he was truly.. Bad A$$. All the other characters were splendid as well.
Breakfast Club is a story of teen difficulties and shows the different types of turmoil that teens can go thru..
Now content wise.. this movie is filled with profanity and also much sexuality.. so if you don't like that kind of stuff, keep away... but let me tell you that the fact that it holds that language is proof of reality.. high school is filled with that and many other realistic stuff that this film shows..
Pros: Great writing. Great acting Cons: the antigay attitudes. but such was the attitude of the 80's teen
being a senior in high school the year this movie came out, i can fully relate to all the characters. I used to see all 5 types walking the halls of my high school. To anybody who was a teenager during the 80's, this was your life. It's kind of funny to realize that some of the teens from that time now have children of their own. Many of the problems they share on that saturday afternoon in detention can be related to teens today. It's definately a movie to sit back with a few friends on a rainy day and watch.
Classic 80's Favorite!!! by wicked_lette ,Sep 25 '05
Pros: - Highly entertaining!
- Accurately depicts high school cliques.
- Spectacular acting!! Cons: - A joke without a punchline.
- A couple over-the-top moments.
The Breakfast Club is a movie depicting Saturday detentions in high school. It shows the views from the sides of each clique. Geek, Popular, Rebel, Outcast, and Jock.
The film has great acting from the seven actors in the film (Yes, seven. Not including the extras who play parents.) The movie will keep you wondering, laughing, and smiling.
The Breakfast Club will always be a classic film of the 1980's, and it will always be favored.
Pros: Funny, somewhat realistic, good soundtrack for the time Cons: If you actually found any you have way too much time on your hands!
I don't think that anyone can honestly say that they were not one of these people in high school. To say that any of you weren't is just a bold faced lie. To say that the dialog is dated, while this is the case, it is not necessary to state the obvious. This movie is 20 years old, of course the dialog is dated. So is any movie from the 1970's. Anyone who didn't like this movie has to be a very boring and sad person.
