Pros: Entertaining movie with good cast. First cool Bond car.

Goldfinger has got the Midas touch when it comes to the 007 series.

by cntaur5, Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 100, Feb 08 '04
Pros: Excellent entertaining film, especially if you are a Bond fan.
Cons: Dated material, parental guidance is strongly suggested.
Goldfinger is another one of the classic spy thrillers featuring our favorite British Agent, James Bond; in fact it’s the third release to hit the silver screen setting the tone for a lifetime of spectacular spy films. Despite hundreds ...

Goldfinger - James Bond #3

by AliventiAsylum AliventiAsylum is a Top Reviewer on Epinions in Movies, Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 50, Dec 04 '07
Pros: good action sequences, marvelous acting, good plot flow
Cons: starting to turn away from original concept into more action-driven pictures
For the third James Bond film, Producers Harry Saltzman and Albert Broccoli chose to get away from the menacing evil organization known as SPECTRE and bring in a new villain. Goldfinger is a madman, and the first in a long line of rather eccentric, ...

The Man with the Midas Touch, that Spider's Touch

by metalluk Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 100, Sep 13 '05
Pros: Connery as Bond; top-notch villain and chief henchman; great theme song; great toys and action
Cons: Scenes utilizing back-projection; mediocre Bond girls
Goldfinger remains the gold standard among the 007 films. With it, director Guy Hamilton drew the contours of the series that would turn Bond into an unprecedented cultural icon. Historical Background: English director Guy Hamilton was ...

Bond's Midas Touch

by Grouch Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 200, Apr 30 '00
Pros: Sean Connery is the perfect blend of dapper suavity and narrow-eyed toughness in Bond's finest hour
Cons: Miss Galore's name makes me blush beet-red
James Bond is in the midst of kissing his latest female conquest when he stares deep into her eyes and sees…what? True love? Gushing admiration? Nope. A killer sneaking up behind him, reflected on the femme fatale’s eyeballs. Quicker than you can...

Sermon On The Goldfinger

by pach1908 , Jan 19 '03
Pros: Seen the right way, a beautiful pristine print.
Cons: none
I did not see Goldfinger on Video/DVD. I did not see Goldfinger in just any old movie theater. I did see it at the wonderful, beautiful restored Normal Theater in Normal Illinois. But I am not here to talk about the theater. No, no my friends. I did not...

Yes it’s pretty good, so what?

by truckturner , Dec 22 '06
Pros: Connery, Eaton, Oddjob, score, car
Cons: Blackman, Frobe, pacing, lack of action
Third and perhaps best-known James Bond film has 007 (Sean Connery) taking on gregarious title villain (Gert Frobe) who plans to explode an atomic device in Fort Knox, resulting in the increase in value of his own gold. Goldfinger is aided in his ...

"I'm in love with gold Mr Bond....it's beauty, it's divine heaviness"

by actonsteve , Apr 20 '04
Pros: Gert Froebe as Goldfinger, Honor Blackman, game of golf, Shirley Bassey song.
Cons: none, this is as good as it gets...
"Do you expect me to talk?" "No Mr Bond - I expect you to DIE!" Glittering, gleaming and gigantic "Goldfinger" is the Bond series as it's creative, critical and box office peak. This is the highwater mark of the series - the film that all ...

Martin, Aston Martin

by Guildencrantz Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 1000, Dec 16 '00
Pros: Aston Martin DB 5, Shirley Eaton, one of the greatest villains, Oddjob, and everything else.
Cons: This is the classic Bond film. It is for Bond fans and newbies alike solely because there really is nothing wrong with it.
The third film in the Bond theory Goldfinger is often considered THE Bond film. To give credit where credit is due Goldfinger did start the craze. Dr. No had been a success and well surpassed expectations and From Russia With...

A Golden Movie

by a_johnson , Mar 07 '04
Pros: Too many to put in here.
Cons: Some errors, not much else.
Out of all the Bond films there are, this will always remain on my list of the top 5 at least. It is still currently number 1, but hey, you never know. Maybe a better one will come out. This movie has everything a Bond fan wants. It has amazing ...

I Beat 007 At Golf !!

by cujimmy , Jul 27 '01
Pros: Sean Connery. Good villians. The "definitive" spy movie.
Cons: Not a thing !!!
~ ~ The third James Bond movie, Goldfinger, directed by Guy Hamilton, was released in December 1964, with our intrepid MI6 hero again being played to perfection by everybody’s favourite Scotsman, Sean Connery.
If any modern day director wants to...

Bringing in the Gold

by BlackBear Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 500, Feb 12 '01
Pros: Sean Connery proves once and for all that he is the best Bond
Cons: Highly sexist content is no longer an accepted venue.
James Bond is one of the icons of my generation and although Sean Connery had portrayed the suave spymaster in two previous films, Dr. No and From Russia With Love, it was Goldfinger that made Bond the legend he is today.

An Odd Job, but a Classic

by strykerbc , Sep 19 '00
Pros: Excellent acting, great story, near-perfect script
Cons: A few poor performances from supporting characters, "A View to a Kill" was based on it (yuck!)
"Goldfinger" is viewed by the casual Bond fan as the best of the series, and while the true, die-hard fans usually prefer "From Russia With Love," "Goldfinger" is an excellent film in its own right.
We'll start with the...

The film that started it all

by JackFoley , Jun 24 '00
Pros: Connery, villains, plot and scheme, action and adventure
Cons: none
"Dr. No" may have been the first film, and "From Russia With Love" is also remembered as a classic. But when you think of James Bond today there are things that come to your mind. Great stunts and action, a larger than life villain...

Pure Movie Gold

by lskrzyniarz , Mar 13 '00
Pros: Sexy leading man, good story.
Cons: Not the best special effects, but it was 1964 so you can't expect too much.
It's sad to admit as a lover of film that I have never really been a big Bond fan. In fact, I've only ever seen the more recent Bond films with Timothy Dalton and Pierce Brosnan. Dalton I found boring and Brosnan though attractive is nothing more than...
