Pros: One of the finest films ever created Cons: The terrible films that followed
I figured this would be an apt title for my review, since it is one of the greatest movie lines ever written (actually ad-libbed) and belongs to, what is in my opinion, a masterpiece. I think it's safe to say that out of any film I have ever laid my...

Pros: Revamped, repackaged, new format, neat extras Cons: n/a
This latest repackage of the classic Stephen Spielberg film is a must for its fans. The film itself is untouched other than being digitally remastered but the extras are well worth the money for the disc.
A 50 minute documentary "The Making...

Pros: Scary, exciting, well-acted. Cons: Hokey ending but you won't care.
It's fairly common knowledge now that the reason the audience rarely ever sees the shark in JAWS is because they could never get it to actually work. Instead of being hampered by this problem, Spielberg used it to his advantage to create one of the best...

Pros: Not that scarey Cons: can predict what will happen
For those of you who have given this movie a 1 star, you were obviously not born yet or allowed to get into the movies to appreciate how scary it was at that time. For the person who said that it was too gory - bingo! It's about a maneating shark! What...

Pros: Characters, script, scenery, story, cast and music Cons: Special Effects
Steven Spielberg has produced many horror movies since "Jaws", and for the most part they have all been exceptional. However, "Jaws" was a masterpiece in that it was an all-around exercise in intrigue, action and fear.

Pros: One of the greatest horror movies of all time! A masterpiece!!! Cons: None that come to mind.
WHY WAS JAWS SO SCARY? Like most films, Jaws is one of those movies that keeps you pinned to the edge of your seat! There is plenty of action, horror & suspense! From the very beginning to the very end, you may NEVER want to go to the beach again! ...

Pros: Much better than the book -- Benchley improved on his characters. Cons: hard to find a flaw with this one.
JAWS the movie is a lot different than the novel but at the same time it is written by the same author, Peter Benchley. What I liked the best about this movie is the use of the suspense and you don't always see the shark. I saw the movie after ...

Pros: Quint's acting on being masticulated. . .! Cons: Traumatised Spielberg himself!
When the special edition of this classic oceanoGRAPHIC thriller was released earlier this August it was a bloody swim down the deeps of terror-for me! And so I got me a copy. . . . To say the least, THERE WILL NEVER BE A FILM SHOT IN SUCH REALISM;there ...

Pros: Great Cons: Old
This is a truly disturbing movie about the helplessness of man when he is in the water. Jaws introduced the audience to a new kind of terror: the Great White Shark.
Jaws takes us to a small New England community, Amity Island, that is being...

Pros: Scheider, Dreyfuss, Shaw, Spielberg Cons: First half not as good as second
In 1975 Steven Spielberg was a young television director. He had made a big splash with a T.V. movie called Duel, starring Dennis Weaver, and was ready to make the jump to the big screen. He chose to make that jump with Jaws.
Jaws, based on a novel...

Pros: Very nicely done. Suspenseful. Not too cheesy. Cons: One awfully written character. You may cover your eyes during some scenes.
This was how my husband felt when he finally talked me into watching this movie for the first time this week. Okay, so I'm a little behind sometimes in the movie department. I'm 26 years old and the first time I saw any of the Star Wars movies I was in...

Dickie Goodman had a top five novelty hit, "Mr.

with answers that were snipped from contemporary
hit singles. It began something like this...

Pros: The direction -- this is a Hitchcockian thriller, not a slasher film or mindless blockbuster -- the performances (so realistic!, so telling!), the way in which Spielberg gets you on a string without ever taking you over the edge, as Hitchcock so often did. Cons: None -- this is a perfect film, and even if I believed that, say, Schindler's List was generally superior (and I don't) I can't imagine anybody not admitting that it's a lot sloppier. What we have here is...a masterpiece.
By Max Scheinin.
I've seen Jaws many times, and the film doesn't grow stale. It doesn't become less exciting. And I find myself puzzled by the complaints that Spielberg's 1975 masterpiece (released the same year as Nashville, Barry Lyndon, The...
