Pros: Some interesting moments. Entertaining for the most part. Diana Rigg. Cons: Slower pace. Lazenby.
After appearing in the first five James Bond movies, Sean Connery had grown tired of the part and decided not to return. On Her Majesty's Secret Service is the first Bond movie to feature someone else as Bond. It also has ...

Pros: The plot takes a moment to get to the real story. Cons: Lacked a lot of "Q's" spyware and gadgets.
On Her Majesty's Secret Service (1969) starts off immediately with a visual of the Universal Export (London) LTD then jumps to Q (Desmond Llewelyn) discussing radioactive lent while M (Bernard Lee) is inquiring about the whereabouts ...

Pros: good story, ski chase scene, Diana Rigg Cons: George Lazenby doesn't fit role, some actions out of character
Now it doesn’t seem much of a big deal that various actors have taken on the role of super-spy James Bond. However, no one was really sure how actor other than Sean Connery would be received in the role. George Lazenby went to great extents to be ...

Pros: Best Bond girl ever; personal side of Bond; Ferzetti as Draco Cons: Easily the worst Bond actor ever; easily the worst villain ever; stupid mind control plot
The sixth Bond film was the first to feature an actor other than Sean Connery in the role of James Bond. It is a film of extremes, featuring a couple of "bests" for the series and two or three "worsts" as well. Unfortunately, the negatives overwhelm ...

Pros: Diana Rigg, the snowplough stunt, John Barry's score, Ilse Steppart as Irma Bunt Cons: George Lazenby was a massive mistake, but he did make life easier for Roger Moore
From the safety of thirty three years after it's release we can now conclude that 'On Her Majesty's Secret Service' is one of the great James Bond films. It is repeatedly fresh and exciting after all these years and is the bravest Bond film of all with ou ...

Pros: Telly Savalas and his evil ways! Cons: George Lazenby. It's too long for a Bond (240 min)
WILL CONTAIN SOME SPOILERS! As of "Die Another Day", there are 20 (official) James Bond films out right now, each of them having something different to contribute to the series. However, each of them have a few traits that are shared by all the ...

Pros: Fantastic action scenes and great performances by Diana Rigg and Telly Savalas. Cons: Only one, but it's a biggie: George Lazenby as James Bond, 007.
“This never happened to the other fellow.” This remark is made by a love-struck James Bond at the start of “On Her Majesty’s Secret Service,” the sixth feature film in MGM’s Bond franchise. Bond has just encountered Tracy (Diana Rigg), a wealthy and...

Pros: A great cast, Flemings best novel, wonderfully shot Cons: Highly underrated due to its leading man
On Her Majestys Secret Service is an excellent outing into the Bond series. When you have a stellar cast, one of Ian Flemings best novels, a well expierenced production team, and a wallet the size of Texas, its hard to go wrong. OHMSS was underrated in la ...

Pros: Two hours and twenty minutes of pure 007 bliss. The ending is strong. Cons: That I had to endure "Diamonds are Forever" after this gem!
It was hard enough being a child of the eighties, but simultaneously being a loner and a young James Bond fan, almost spelled certain defeat for this humble reviewer. Like many, I was a fan of Bond, though unlike my...

Pros: A unique Bond movie that doesn't leave out what makes Bond so great. Cons: Lengthy with a little dry spell.
On Her Majesty's Secret Service is what many Bond fans consider to be the best in the series. George Lazenby does the impossible task of replacing Sean Connery as Bond with a more convincing performance than the next two Bonds that come in after...

Pros: Romantic subplots and character development, action and look Cons: Depressing at times and somewhat strange without Connery
This film is somewhat of an enigma. How did it work out that the most character driven and dramatic film of the series would be acted by the one-time fill-in for James Bond, George Lazenby? Why is it that with a shocking and heart-breaking ending and an...

Pros: It's not the typical Bond plot and story. There is a MAJOR surprise in this for people familiar with Bond. Cons: Lazenby is a lousy Bond. The fight scenes look like the belong in a comic. The transition from the final, rather heavy, scene to the upbeat Bond theme over the credits is harsh.
On Her Majesty's Secret Service is the sixth movie in the James Bond series, and it's the first one that doesn't star Sean Connery as James Bond. Instead the producers turned to George Lazenby to play Bond, and it ended up being a one time...

Pros: story, action scenes, plot, locations Cons: some acting, plot unlike other Bond films.
Most people I talk to or most webpages I've seen have had nothing good to say about On Her Majesty's Secret Service. They never really gave a reason, other than the fact that they thought George Lazenby wasn't really good as Bond. But, there were a few...

Pros: Diana Rigg is marvelous...beautiful visuals, typical of all Bond movies Cons: George Lazenby lacks the acting range and charisma to convincingly portray 007
With the upcoming "The World is Not Enough", James Bond will have a total of 19 films and 5 portrayers over the last 35+ years. This film could have been one of the best...if only Bond had had only 4 actors, instead of 5.
Blame...

Pros: Shakes up Bond formula, but keeps stirring action. Cons: Miscast, looong, downbeat
Greeted with a range of boredom to derision upon its release, the reputation OHMSS has crept up over the years to the point where some revisionists put it among the best in the series.
Neither extreme is defensible, but OHMSS is a long but fairly...
