Princess Bride

Pros: no swearing, highly entertaining, appropriate for kids and adults

When my high school English teacher forced us to read "The Princess Bride" I was immediately leery. A ROMANCE novel? What did we do to deserve this. As I read the book I grumbled and griped and moaned all the way through (I WOULD NOT give him the satisfaction of knowing that WAY WAY down, deep inside I actually kind of found it funny, and actually kind of liked it.) Anyway, as a "treat" after we read the book we watched the movie. Now, the book is excellent, but the movie is phenomenal. My absolute favourite movie ever made.

At first glance, the Princess Bride looks cheesy and pathetic. That's because it's a satire. They want it to look cheesy and pathetic. However, the dialogue is supremely amusing and quite witty.

There are people out there who would not "get" the Princess Bride. However, these people probably don't "get" a lot of things. I find the movie highly entertaining, it's appropriate for kids, and highly entertaining for adults.

I loved having this book read to me when I was a child, and I loved watching it as a movie growing up. Some guys feel ashamed to like this one, but I'm here to tell you, whenever I find a guy who admits to liking this movie, they are automatically on my awesome list. It's a great story, great action, great dialogue, great acting. Everything about it is wonderfully enjoyable. If you have a chance, I'd definitely check out the book as well.

Pros: Best use of the work inconceivable(repeatedly) in a film.
Cons: The prince's role was just a little bit TOO stereotypical.

This movie get better every time you watch. It has great swordplay scenes, good use of the actors (Billy Crystal, Carol Kane, Andre the Giant, etc.)and the tongue in cheek dialog is hysterical. I have turned several friends & family members young & old onto this movie & all have enjoyed it. Definitely two thumbs up!@

Pros: Fencing, fighting, true love, miracles. Light hearted comedy and a good time over all.

Loved this movie as a child, love it as an adult. It's probably the best date movie you can get as well as the best movie to park your kids in front of and and still have a good time yourself.

The movie is wonderfully funny and full of brilliant dialog. It's a cult classic that is all at once hip and family friendly. Its based off of a great book under the same title.

I highly recommend this movie to anyone with a sense of humor. You'll fall madly in love with at least one character in the film, if not five, ten or twenty.

This film is a classic. Everyone will love this movie. You may think princess movies are for girls, but not this one. Boys like it, too! Fred Savage is adorable in this movie as the little boy who is sick in bed when his grandpa reads him the book of "The Princess Bride." All the other actors are great, too. Its funny, too!

Pros: The characters are great, and they bring excitement
Cons: The movie is kinda cheesy, and old school.

I have watched this movie a million time, and I never get sick of it. Classic, classic, classic! I would definitely watch it again.

Pros: It is hysterical! The acting is fair, the characters are creative! The story is darling...
Cons: The music is probably the only thing I have an issue with.
