Pros: The underlying aspects of what appears to be a straightforward movie Cons: There are a few cheesy one-liners that I could do without... But hey, this is the horror genre!!
Summary: If I may be so bold, John Carpenter has never out-done, nor will he ever out-do, his classic 1982 film, The Thing. We all know about the clever plot, the amazing effects and gore, and the stellar cast, but what is it about this movie that has ... read more

Summary: Early in my childhood I had viewed many movies. After recently taking inventory in my mind I realized that the movies I viewed were mainly Steven Spielberg films: ET, Jaws, The Color Purple, Empire of the Sun, Hook and so on... But the second ... read more

Pros: GREAT horror Cons: lots, lots, lots, of gore
Summary: ...movie of all time. John carpenter made Horror what it is today with HALLOWEEN. With the THING, he redefined it. He brought with blood n' guts horror and new kind of psychological horror as we continue guessing which characters are the THING, none of ... read more

Pros: Scary as Hell Cons: Scary as Hell
Summary: I sat and watched at the foot of my mom's bed as not to disturb her rest. I was about 10 and I was really scared. I crawled into my mom's bed and I'm sure I had nightmares that night. Horror can fuel the imagination.

Pros: Exciting action movie, good plot, good performances by actors. Cons: Very, very, VERY gory; may be too intense for some.
Summary: It was with some hesitation I went to see "The Thing" in the early summer of 1982; I had already read reviews that had described it as a movie which kept audiences underneath their seats instead of on the edge of them. Obviously, some ... read more
