Pros: Another entertaining movie in the Bond series. Cons: Some slower spots. Connery didn't seem as connected to the part.
The first four James Bond movies were very popular, so the producers wanted to continue making the movies even though Sean Connery was starting to get tired of playing Bond. He actually announced during filming that You Only Live Twice ...

Pros: beautiful setting, plenty of action, good performances by new actors Cons: Connery lackluster, plot highly unbelievable
The most surprising fact I found out about the fifth entry in the James Bond series was that the screenplay for You Only Live Twice was written by noted children’s author Roald Dahl. Although his novels aren’t what I would call ...

Pros: Japanese cultural atmosphere; Pleasence, Tamba and Akiko Wakabayashi; Ninja raid; volcanic lair; great score Cons: Weak henchmen and henchwomen; weak second Bond girl; passive Bond
After the preceding Bond film T
hunderball,
there was the distinct possibility that the producer of the Bond series, Eon Productions, might scuttle the series. Instead, they called in director Lewis Gilbert, fresh off ...

Pros: Connery, Pleasence, Sets, Song, story, pace Cons: Karin Dor, misogyny
Im no die-hard Bond fan, as Ive probably mentioned before, but it really is true, despite the fact that Ive seen all of the films and own several on video. There are some that I like, and then the rest are varying degrees of forgettable ...

Pros: The volcano finale, Japanese locations, Donald Pleasance as Blofeld, Nancy Sinatra's song Cons: Sean Connery looks tediously bored, he didn't want to be there and it shows
If you don't enjoy 'You Only Live Twice' then you can't enjoy movies... After 'The Man with the Golden Gun' this is the most exotic of the Bond films, and is mostly famous for the Japanese locations, the volcano finale and the introduction of Bond's ne ...

Pros: Blofeld makes a great villain. There is an amazing grandeur to this film. Cons: The lava scenes are just horrendous, but there are only a few of them.
With the fifth movie in the Bond series Connery is stunning as always, but the character of Bond must find another adventure. Given the world as his playground it shouldn't be too hard to find some trouble, but he must also out do his earlier movies....

Pros: Exposure to Japanese culture; Q's grand "gadget"; ninjas to the rescue Cons: Cosmetic or plastic surgery done on James Bond
One reason Sean Connery is considered by many people (including me) to be the best James Bond is because at the time the Bond movies were being made in the 1960s the movies were pretty close to the books. Having read Dr. No, Goldfinger,...

Pros: Connery, great art direction and action sequences., Cons: Silly plot, so-so ending.
Now that all the Bond films are out on DVD, I'm beginning to catch up on the trials and tribulations of everyone's favorite secret agent. Since I find Sean Connery the most attractive of the actors to play Bond, I've started with his forays into the...

Pros: A Classic? Scenes You Remember Cons: A Mockery of A Bond movie
CONNERY IS BOND. Whenever I talk about James Bond films, all anyone ever says is Connery is the greatest Bond. Being the first Bond certainly has given Sean Connery his place in Bond and film history, as well as everyone identifying to the Bond...
