Pros: Special effects, acting isn't horrible. Cons: Story, cenobites, stupid humor, loses track of original goal.
Whether or not Hellraiser III: Hell On Earth (1992) is a good sequel is a matter of opinion.
On one hand of course is the fact that the film deviates from the first two. No longer is Kirsty Cotton the unwilling protagonist. This...

Pros: Great Pinhead one-liners, pleasure and pain is still here, still gory as the other two. Cons: The script goes way over the top with a out of place story.
I'm not a huge fan of Pinhead, but that doesn't mean I don't like his stuff: giving his victims pleasure and pain with chains, hooks and soon after equals death. I own a few Hellraiser movies, all but one I have reviewed here. Obviously, the one left out ...

Pros: Pinhead has the most screen time in any of the Hellraiser movies Cons: Too bad it's really boring and lame
The original Hellraiser was released in 1987 and was actually a good movie. It had suspense and torture and hell involved and it was well done. Upon the cult success something happened that happens to most horror filmsa sequel was made, but ...

Pros: Doug Bradley, Special Effects aren't bad Cons: Quite a lot to be honest
Hellraiser III: Hell On Earth is often declared the point where the series, created by Clive Barker, based on one of his novels, plummeted downhill, transforming the series from a stylish, gruesome and twisted nightmare to a simple slasher ...

Pros: An OK slasher film. Good gore Cons: The story is bad, acting is bad even for a horror film.
Regardless of what anyone says or thinks the first two Hellraiser films released in 1987 and 1988 respectively had one of the best background stories for a horror film in the past 10 - 15 years. The themes of religion, Satanism, Heaven, Hell, Pain, and ...

Pros: Good special effects; interesting twists
to the series; Doug Bradley Cons: Much too violent for mainstream viewers
In 1987, British horror author Clive Barker, known here in
the States for his popular short story collections, "Books of Blood", wrote/directed his feature film debut, the horror
classic "Hellraiser". Adapting his novella, "The Hellbound

Pros: very few-- Elliott and Terri, a nice closing shot, all the (unintentional) comedy Cons: cheesy acting and gore, new Cenobites (ha!), this film being made in the first place
This film is, in a word, awful. Where do I even start? It is impossible to watch this film with a straight face. If you are new to the series, you will laugh at its abject stupidity and juvenile spooks. If you're a hardcore Hellraiser fan, you'll cry at...

Pros: Not a Limburgher, but definitely a good Swiss Cons: not for the squeamish, who probably aren't reading this anyway
Dear Reader: Add 1/2 star to the posted rating.
After coming home from a hard night's work, I thought I detected the faint smell of strong cheese, which is odd because I hadn't bought any. Flipping thru the tv listings on Cinemax I found the...

Pros: Paula Marshall, New Cenobites Cons: Sad Characters, Does not follow the original story
Well now,... On to the third of the infamous Hellraiser series. I found Hell On Earth to be a nice try in bringing back the series. Making it a trilogy was a great idea, and I must admit I loved it all, apart from the simple fact that they did not bring...

Pros: Excellent dialogue and some good new cenobites Cons: some cheesy acting and a few laughable cenobites
This is my least favourite of the Hellraiser series. But it's still a great movie. After a brief and fruitless insurgence against Leviathan, Pinhead and his crew seemed finished. But as they say. "Evil never dies." After being imprisoned in a...

Pros: The new approach Cons: J.P!
In HR1 hell came to a few, in HR2 we went to hell, now in 3 its come to us with a vengence! Pinheads lines are exquisite and delivered with appropriate wit and venom. Its a pity J.P became a cenobite as he was your all american college boy! He should...
