Pros: Restores faith in life and humanity Cons: Can be a wee bit sentimental
Forrest Gump is a very unusual movie in some ways. It’s very difficult to pinpoint the presence of a particular theme. It may even be Forrest Gump has no theme and is merely a story. I also found it interesting that a movie could glorify living life in ...

Pros: Brilliant acting, script, direction, and score. Cons: Strong language at times.
"Forrest Gump" is one of the main reasons I find Tom Hanks to be, arguably, the best actor in Hollywood today. His unfaltering performance here is brilliant....completely convincing and quite moving. I was rooting for his Best Actor Oscar for this role....

Pros: None. None at all. Cons: Apologia for Vietnam, distortion of history. Probably responsible for George W. Bush.
When George W. Bush was running for President, I just couldn't understand how anybody could find someone so obviously appalling appealing. Then I remembered Ronald Reagan and this movie; the dots began to connect for me. I claim no understanding of why...

Pros: Special effects are neat. Cons: Left a bad taste in my mouth. Why should I care about Gump?
Not too long ago NBC's second timeline miniseries, THE 70s, got roasted by reviewers. They laughed at the way it took some uninteresting characters and threw them into every major event that ever happened during the 70s.
Funny how this...

Pros: Wonderful film about the dignity of being human Cons: None!
After reading umpteen reviews of "Forrest Gump" upon which I wanted to comment, I decided to skip that and just write my own review. The biggest problem that people seem to have with it is its alleged promotion of the right-wing agenda. That's...

Pros: TOM HANKS, GR8 MUSIC, GR8 SCRIPT AND MANY MORE Cons: SUCH MOVIES DONT HAVE CONS
“ Life is so sweet, but still people wan’t more out of life and run behind money, fame and sex…
But there are kind of people who get everything in life, but they don’t carve for materialistic things, they are so content in life”

Pros: Acting, script, music, direction all wonderful! Cons: A long sit for some people, not for kids.
I saw this movie the day it came out, because I fell in love with the soundtrack! I know, that sounds backward, but I positively adore the music from this movie.
Little did I know that I would love the movie even more.
The...

Pros: Historical measures included in this movie Cons: It's too great to have any problems
Life is like a box of chocolates....you never know what you gonna get!! Now that is the most famous line that can ever reach movie cinemas. It came from a movie called Forrest Gump. Tom Hanks, Gary Sinise and Sally Field make great appearances in this...

Pros: Lots of humor, great story Cons: some of the humor can be offensive
As much as I love Endora60-- I disagree with her review of Forrest Gump. Of course, I'm a big Tom Hanks fan, but that's not the only reason I like the movie.
I think Tom Hanks does a great job of BEING Forrest Gump. You can't help but lose...

Pros: History Lesson? Movie? Cons: Lengthy!
As American as apple pie, Forrest Gump is equal parts a history lesson and movie.
You have Tom Hanks, as our dear Forrest Gump. A dimwitted Southern boy raised by a very supportive 'Mama'. Gump's mental handicap doesn't slow him a bit. From...

Pros: Enjoyable, has you rooting for the underdog. Cons: A little long.
I just watched this movie for the 100th time on New Year's Eve. I can honestly say that I enjoyed it just as much as I did the first time. Tom Hanks is excellent in this role, I actually see him as Forrest Gump, not just an actor playing the part. The...

Pros: Great detail to historical events. Cons: No cons.
Forrest Gump is one of the most well written moves in history. Forrest starts out as a young boy in the days of the Ku Klux Klan and ends up in the 1980's, as a multi-millionaire invested in a "fruit company." It takes you through high points...

Pros: Original script, some touching scenes, wildly entertaining Cons: None
Introduction
This movie is out and out must-see. Not only is it hilarious and extremely helpful in terms of putting history into perspective, it is downright human. I came across so many touching scenes when I watched the movie one lazy...

Pros: Tom Hanks, strong supporting cast, strong screenplay, great special effects, great music Cons: the John Lennon interview
I didn't really have any intention of seeing this movie, but I was stationed in Monterey, California at the time and my buddies and I were wanting to see True Lies instead. When we got to the theater, True Lies had a line a mile long. We didn't want to...

Pros: A few hints that the old Zemeckis is still around, surrounded by otherwise mundane moments. Cons: A preachy script, terrible performances, mostly disappointing direction by Zemeckis, and over-acclaimed special effects.
By Max Scheinin.
Poor Robert Zemeckis has been led astray by the promise of awards, or critical prestige. Like his friend Steven Spielberg, Zemeckis once crafted beautifully rendered pop masterpieces -- and like Spielberg who now makes...
