Pros: Interesting Plot, Great Acting Cons: Could be very offensive to some.
A love-story between a lesbian and a heterosexual male doesn't sound like it would work but with the amazing talent of Kevin Smith it does. Chasing Amy is installment number three in his New Jersey Trilogy that also included Clerks and Mallrats. The...

Pros: funny, provocative Cons: slightly tasteless, homosexuality (a con for some)
I admit it I was forced to watch this movie the first time around. I didn't see what I could possibly find entertaining in a movie about a lesbian that goes straight, I was wrong. The acting is flawed in parts, but what movie isn't. The plot was...

Pros: Funny, touching, honest Cons: very profane, you will be violated.
I won a bet with a friend, and had him send me this on DVD. I won't go into details, becuase you can read 60 other reviews that analyze every aspect of this film, so I won't babble. I got this DVD, and it's the best one I own. Going criterion is...

Pros: please, it's Kevin Smith Cons: adult nature - not for kiddos
For just a moment, I'll try to forget the fact that Kevin Smith is not only God but a babe in his own right. Chasing Amy was definately one of the most underrated films of 1997. (And I'm not just biased becuase he chose to use MY name in the title.) ...

Pros: some funny parts Cons: too much lesbian action
Everyone tells me you must see Chasing Amy. Well I saw it and was not too satisfied. I mean there were some funny parts. In my opinion I think it's a guy movie because guys love seeing two girls making out. It like makes there day for some reason....

Pros: Some Funny Parts, Familiar characters to Clerks and Mallrats Cons: Uh.. Lets see here.. It's not as funny as Mallrats, Too Much Love for a "comedy" and too much crying! What is this a tradgedy?!
After watching Clerks I nearly lost all hope in Kevin Smith however.. Mallrats quickly was satisfying. Now.. where does this movie fit in? Well.. I would say the middle.
Ok, I am quite confused.. this seems to be in a "Comedy"...

Pros: Very funny and sad at the same time. Cons: Very short cameo with Jay and Silent Bob
Ok, everybody slips up from time to time. Kevin had slipped up with Mallrats, but he knew how to make it back. His has the formula for the perfect comedy, take a funny situation and make it funnier.
Ben Affleck plays a comic book writer that...

Pros: Funny occasionally Cons: Not funny enough for the series of films to which it belongs
I watched this little film on the basis of it being part of a stonking series of films. Clerks and Mallrats are wonderful films, very amusing indeed; Chasing Amy is certainly not. It's the type of film that when someone asks 'any good?' you reply 'it was alright I suppose', '...and the best bits old boy?' 'Ummm, can't think'. Why is this the case? It's just one of those in-the-middle-of-the-bunch films, it's not rubbish and it's not good. This said I wouldn't recommend it unless you haven't watched Clerks or Mallrats, even then it's not really worth the hour and a half. If you have, however, seen the aformentioned films don't, please don't, watch this (unless you enjoy disappointment).
Now this woman, the one from Bridget Jone's Scumlog and BJ's Scumlog Returns, Rene or something, she's not that great. Get over her now, she will also only disappoint you (steer clear of the film Chicago as well). This is what you call 'hearsay for the purpose of avoiding disappointment'.
