Pros: Eye catching Cons: n/a
There is nothing better then to sit down with hardly any expectations and after the movie be so glad that you rented it. This was such a great movie. I am not a person who usualy sits down and watches a whole WAR movie from beginning to end. But with...

Pros: very well wrote script. Powerful, Really touches your heart Cons: the ending I was disapionted with
If you like Steven Spielberg movies, then you will love Saving Private Ryan.
This movie was powerful, and well wrote. Steven has the great ability to bring
WW II in this movie and make it look so realistic. I cried in the begging of this...

Pros: Wonderful movie, true to life Cons: It was real
After hearing stories about the horrors of war, I went to see Saving Private Ryan. I always felt that talking about what happened to our soldiers was never enough. How could we possibly understand what our hero's went through in the throws of war. My...

Pros: Wonderfully Acted and Directed; Visually stunning; Extremely realistic; Breathtaking and Unimaginable Cons: Disturbing
Set during World War II, Saving Private Ryan begins on D-Day in the battle of Normandy. After this half hour war sequence, Tom Hanks's character is instructed to get a group of men together to find a man who has lost all of his brothers in the war, and...

Pros: No sugar coated stuff here.
Cons: I have a hard time seeing Hanks as a mean superior, but he wasn't bad.
I rented this movie this weekend, as I have not seen it since it hit theatres back in 1998. I think the plot was a little lame: A group of soldiers who are running over Germany just to tell a kid that three of his brothers had been killed in battle....

Pros: well acted, directed, and produced Cons: Extremely violent and nausea inducing
I really can't say much about this movie since my eyes were closed most of the time. I have a weak stomach right now and I knew it was probably a bad idea to go to this movie.
I keep hearing people talk about how accurate the movie portrayed...

Pros: Remarkably realistic and very well directed, haunting overall effect Cons: amazing lack of... everything else that makes a movie good
Perhaps this just isn't my kind of movie. Perhaps i'm just too jaded to feel for the chracters involved. Or perhaps Steven Spielberg didn't give me anything to feel for. Don't get me wrong, Spielberg has been great and will most likely be great again...

Pros: Tom Hanks and Matt Damon Cons: Blood and Gore
Less than one hour ago, I watched Saving Private Ryan for the first time. It's a movie about World War two, and the war department sadly has to report to this woman, Mrs.Ryan, that three out of four of her sons, stationed in different parts of the globe...

Pros: Great Story, Great Acting, And almost too real Cons: Nothing
Every now and then a movie comes out that everyone alive must see. This is one of those movies. World War II is like a forgotten war with how long ago it happened. Young people today really have no clue what happened during WWII. This movie captures...

Pros: Good Performances, Realistic Cons: Pessimistic, Graphic
World War II has always been thought of as
perhaps the only good war, the one war where
Americans were clearly in the right. From
a geopolitical viewpoint, this was the case:
Hitler and Tojo had to be stopped, or they
would...

Pros: Great war scenes Cons: Adequate, or sub par acting performances, with stiff dialogue at times
Like I said to my wife, Saving Private Ryan WASN'T a great movie but it WAS a GREAT WAR !! TERRIFIC war scenes, makes you feel like you're really there. As with most Spielberg movies, this movie WAS an EVENT. Spielberg is great at the SPECTACULAR. His...

Pros: masterpiece of a movie, good acting Cons: too bloody??
Saving Private Ryan was so real, it made me cry. You can tell if it's a good movie if emotion is shown. From the beginning to the end, Saving Private Ryan scoops you up and squeezes the American ways out of you. That is why Stephen Spielberg is an...

Pros: The acting is great, the story realistic. Amazing Cons: Perhaps TOO realistic - blood and guts.
After watching this movie I sat and thought about what it took just to save this one man and I was amazed. The things that Tom Hanks' character (and his platoon) goes through just to save private Ryan are inspiring.
This movie, like many...

Pros: The cast and crew Cons: I can think of nothing
There are not many movies out there that get my attention from the first frame and keep it until the very last.
Saving Private Ryan is one such movie. The first sign that this film is going to be one to remember is the fact that Steven...
