Pros: great movie Cons: horrible to think about losing a child
First off let me say. I have never seen a movie that Michelle Pfeiffer was in that I didn't like. Deep End of the Ocean is about The Cappadora Family and they lose a son to a kidnapping.
Pfeiffer, is the Mother of Ben the lost...

Pros: plot while predictable had some twists, happy ending Cons: lack of deep emotional scenes bearing in mind the subject matter
I have mixed feelings about "Deep End of the Ocean". I had been meaning to watch it for some time and finally watched it on cable this evening/morning(it was 4 AM i was up with my baby).
The story:
Michelle Pfiffer plays a...

Pros: Great story. Wonderfull cast. Cons: Tissue, Tissue and more Tissue
I finally got to see this movie when it came on cable last week. And since then I have seen it three times. The first two times I missed the beginning.
This was a great movie....
It starts out with the mother played by...

Pros: Fairly good movie Cons: none
It's been 2 hours and 25 minutes, has anyone seen my son? I just turned around for a few minutes to pay the cashier and he disappeared. I know he is just hiding somewhere, can you help me find him?
Four hours now...look again. He can't be...

Pros: Michelle Pfeiffer Cons: sad (?)
This is not a happy, feel good, pick me up kind of movie. It is, however, very good. Michelle Pfeiffer (Beth) and Treat Williams (Pat) are a married couple whose son Ben is kidnapped.
Beth retreats into her own world and can barely cope...

Pros: Jonathan Jackson Cons: Like watching paint dry
You turn your back for a moment and your child is gone. Imagine the terror, the guilt, the gut-wrenching agony parents go through when their children disappear. Now imagine a movie about the kidnapping of a three-year-old boy that’s about as exciting...

Pros: Great acting by all characters, good story-line Cons: Very scary to realize how quickly the same thing could happen to any of us.
I have wanted to see this movie for some time now but wanted to wait until I could give it my full attention.
Even knowing the plot and realizing that the missing child, Ben was going to be found eventually, I still had a sickening feeling in...

Pros: Good performance by Ms. Pfeiffer, plot Cons: Implausible ending
First off, I never read the book and haven't yet so my opinion will be based on the movie. As a mother, the idea of having your child snatched from under your nose is a nightmare. That, and having Michelle Pfeiffer in the movie was enough to get me to...

Pros: heart touching Cons: long
I didn't read the book, but I might now. I heard that the book was better than the Movie, but isn't that how it always is?
I did like this movie and my husband even cried! I didn't, but I guess that's because I kind of knew what was going to...

Pros: Incredible Story Cons: None
I have watched this movie twice and the only thing that I did not enjoy was the title. I have yet to figure out what it has to do with the movie.
The story starts out with a mother (Michelle Pfeiffer) who has taken her two young sons to her high...

Pros: Good basic story Cons: Long, some stilted dialogue
When this movie first came out, I was really excited - I loved the book, and was also thrilled that Jonathan Jackson (who, at the time, had the role of Lucky on _General Hospital_) had a major part. At the time, though I had an 8 month old baby, and...

Pros: Fresh new story line Cons: Didn't quite draw you inside the plot
She's a young, happy mother. Her three lovely children put a smile on her face. And in the few minutes it takes her to turn her back in a crowded room, she's minus one child. Three year old, Ben has vanished.
Beth (Pfeiffer) introduces...

Pros: Journeyman performances by the stars Cons: Lack of emotional verite in the story itself....
Sometimes, when I stop to think about it, I astound myself with the mass and variety of my personal experiences. In Deep End of the Ocean, Michelle Pfeiffer's youngest son is abducted. In 1967 my daughter was also abducted. In the movie, they don't...

The story begins with Beth Cappadora going to her High School Reunion in Chicago. For some reason, she brings all her kids and leaves her husband behind. However, a tragedy strikes when she leaves the older boy (Vincent) to watch the younger one (Ben)...
