Pros: well-acted, good story Cons: none
Tom Hanks is a wonderful actor and he was his usual wonderful self in The Green Mile, a story about death row in a prison in Louisiana in the 1930's. Hanks plays the role of Paul Edgecomb, a guard who has a conscience and who treats the inmates like...

Pros: Excellent cast, follows the book almost exactly. Cons: Length: Bad movie for people who always fall asleep during movies no matter how good they are.
The Green Mile captivated me from start to finish. I read this book and was very impressed by the movie. I've never read a Stephen King book before this. It's not the typical book I read. There wasn't a lot of action or anything like that, but...

Pros: Keeps your attention all the way through Cons: don't go if you don't want to cry
I went to see this movie today with my husband because the previews peaked my interest. Friends and family who had seen this movie had said it was good, but I definitely don't go by others opinions when it comes to movies. I loved this movie. I...

Pros: Emotional, complex and richly entertaining story. Cons: A 'tad' long.
While vacationing in Lima, Peru for two months, with very little to do (have already been to Macchu Picchu this trip) my friend and I have been hitting quite a few movies, including 'The Green Mile', and I must say that, though it IS long, it is well...

Pros: well executed (pardon the pun) movie, Cons: rather lengthy, watch if you have the time
3 hours of getting to know somebody and then watching him get executed in an electric chair. If that doesn't make you feel any emotion then i don't quite know what will. Set on death row in a southern prison in 1935, the Green Mile is the...

Pros: Great movies - lots of laughs and tears Cons: Left a few unanswered questions
I wanted to see The Green Mile because I love Tom Hanks and most of the movies that he has starred in. I didn't know much about the plot when I went to the theater - the fact that Tom Hanks was in it was enough for me. Since I didn't know what to...

Pros: They DO make 'em like they used to! Cons: A bit long; bookends don't really add anything
If it doesn't hook you from the beginning, you're probably in for a long haul. At one hundred eighty minutes, a movie like this requires an attention span and a free evening. There have been longer pictures released this year, many with larger budgets....

Pros: Performances and story are terrific Cons: Emotional Payoff isn't quite there
How does the director of The Shawshank Redemption, a Stephen King story set in a prison, as well as one of the great movies and great movie stories of the 90s, do a follow-up? You film The Green Mile; a six-part Stephen King novel serial set in a prison....

Pros: a great introduction to Michael Clarke Duncan, uses a blatant racial stereo-type, but shows that you cannot judge a book by its cover... or even its preface. Cons: still plays to stereotypes that this country needs to get over!
I'd had mixed feelings about seeing this film, not sure what it was about, but resistant to seeing another death row film, particularly one that plays into negative racial stereotypes. But, I needed something to do one evening, so I decided to rent it....

Pros: The story is good, the acting is exceptional Cons: Stephen King's New-Age Cr*p
I almost passed on seeing The Green Mile (TGM) for several reasons.
First, I read a review in which the writer said that TGM was just one of Hollywood's many cliches. The cliche here being (in the reviewer's phrase), that of "The...

Pros: Touches the heart of everyone Cons: Can't think of any
I read the book "The Green Mile" by Stephen King long before I knew there was going to be a movie made for it. I thoroughly enjoyed the book, and was surprised at what an excellent job the director, Frank Darabont, did replicating the book...

Pros: 5 star movie Cons: I don't know
I'm a fan of Stephen King books & some of the movies. I'm now a huge fan of this movie version of Stephen King's book! Tom Hanks plays Paul Edgecomb.Paul is in a nursing facility telling his story in flashback form... He is in charge of death row at...

Pros: acting, plot Cons: wasn't prep'd for the "supernatural"
I watched this on the advice of a friend, who told me it was one of the best movies she had ever seen. Upon telling me that it was from a book written by Stephen King, I told her that my second-favorite movie of all time was Shawshank Redemption. She...

Pros: Terrific to watch Cons: Rated R
What a good movie! I completely loved Stephen King's The Green Mile, and I loved this movie just as much. It was well adapted from the book, and thats rare in movies taken from books. The actor were terrific, especially Michael Clarke Duncan!
The...

Pros: Shows that hope still exists, even one of the darkest places on earth..death row Cons: May not be suitable for young children since there are some complicated issues going on
What can I say? I rented this movie having heard a a lot about it and it did nothing short of live up to all the hype I'd heard about it. It was one of the best movies I have seen in a long time. It made me laugh and made me cry. It made me question and...
