Pros: none Cons: what was once original is now stale, weak script,
Scream 3: Konrad Pictures/ Dimension Films
Rating: USA: R/ UK: 18/ Australia: M
So, which is better--SCREAM 2 or SCREAM 3? To be truthful, it's sort of like asking whether you'd rather have herpes or gonorrhea--neither one's all that much...

Pros: It's over!! Finally!! Cons: Cheesy as the sequel
Scream 3 is the 3rd and final (hopefully) movie in the Scream trilogy. It brings back many familiar faces, such as Sydney (Neve Campbell), Deputy Dewey (David Arquette), and Gail Weathers (Courtney Cox). Other actors include Jenny McCarthy and Parker...

Pros: Umm, not as bad as Scream 2? Cons: Everything
Just like Scary Movie, Scream 3 is the “scary” movie that ends up being funny. Except in Scream 3, I don’t mean funny in the traditional funny sense, but funny as in “Ha ha, look at those idiots making fools of themselves!” ...

Pros: Hollywood insider jokes flow as fast and bright as the blood Cons: The movie ends with a whimper, not a bang
The best horror movies squeeze victims into a corner, narrowing the escape routes with each heavy footstep, every menacing slash of the knife, each ominous chord on the soundtrack. Think of Janet Leigh in the shower, think of Sigourney Weaver in the...

Pros: Star studded cast Cons: not as good as first episode
I think the only reason I rented scream 3, was because I had loved Scream, and saw Scream 2. The first Scream was enough. The second Scream added more of the story, and the third Scream just confuses ya until the very end. It's like a map that starts...

Pros: CAMEO BY JAY AND SILENT BOB!!!, Jenny McCarthys cleavage..that's pretty much it Cons: oh ho ho read on, my friend
Note - Since I was officially the last person on earth to waste my 3 bucks on Scream 3, I've decided to go ahead and give away a few major details of the plot and climax but try to hold back on the actual ending, but if by some act of God or...

Pros: Brings an end to an overly-long series. Cons: Not funny, not scary, not interesting, not... zzzz
Ever laid in bed on a particularly icy December morning, the warm womb-like blankets enveloping your body, as the cold harsh outside world beats against your window, and thought to yourself "Just five more minutes?" even though you know you'll have to...

Pros: Satisfactory conclusion to a dwindling horror series Cons: Does not have the edge of either of the first 2 films
Why does this keep happening to Sidney? What awful deed has she done in the past (or in a past life, perhaps) that brought upon these terrible interpersonal relationship skills? She’s friendly, she’s attractive, she’s innocent, and she has also been...

Pros: Clever jabs at the Hollywood industry, some genuine thrills, returning cast Cons: Formula feels a bit stale by now
As a child, I was terrified of scary movies. I'll never forget the first time I saw Halloween. I must have been only 10 or 11, and I didn't sleep that night at all. For years I was haunted by the image of Michael Myers sitting up beside...

Pros: Ends the films on a high note Cons: Not as good as the first two
"Scream 3" is the final chapter to the "Scream" trilogy. It's a good movie, that works as a final act very well. As a horror film by itself, it's not too good. See this movie only if you are a huge fan of "Scream" and you...

Pros: It's the last Scream! (I hope) Good dialogue here and there, swanky interior of Milton's mansion. Cons: Obvious manipulation of plot to make it more complex than necessary, therefore nobody will understand it much unless they've watched the earlier ones.
It's been such a while since I had time to relax and let visual stimuli flood my brainwaves. My friends and I decided to watch a movie late, and there was only Scream 3 left showing in the great big neon box called Village Cinema.
Admittedly,...

Pros: Jay and Silent Bob!! Cons: Bad writing in an overdone series
The original Scream was a trend starter. Witty and fun, the film provided cheap thrills, and a decent payoff.
Scream 2 was horrid. The characters got annoying, the writing worse, and the thrills few and far apart. Worst of all was the...

Pros: Meager scares, decent body count, Parker Posey. Cons: Could have tried SOMETHING new.
Ah, the challenges of keeping a cash cow movie franchise fresh over the course of three whole movies. By the time most movie series reach their third installment (Friday the 13th and Lethal Weapon come to mind), all pretense of 'art' has given way to...

Pros: decent soundtrack, acting is decent, some parts are funny, Parker Posey Cons: cliched, death scenes are mundane
Last week was a very slow week for new releases, the only thing of any note that came out was Scream 3. I've seen, and rather liked, the first two, so I decided to give it a go. Mildly entertaining diversion is about the best I can come up with to...

Pros: A knee-slapping performance by Parker Posey Cons: God...where to start?
Here's a question cinephiles can discuss for the new millennium...the fate of the postmodern horror film. Sure, it's a relatively recent phenomenon -- slightly hip, self-referential, vaguely comedic, and not very scary, this brand of horror only moved...
