Pros: Flashback sequences are good, Mattau is pretty good, a couple of laughs Cons: Cliche-ridden, predictable, ponderous, one-dimensional characters
Hanging Up is one of those movies I’d intended to see when it was out in the cinema (mainly because I like all of the main actresses and of course how could anyone not like Walter Matthau?!?) but never got round to. From the trailer ...
Pros: a great ensemble, it eventually ended Cons: I finally had the remote to myself and THIS is what I got!
My husband generally controls the remote. This is not really a problem, more often than not we want to watch the same things. However, occasionally there will be a show or movie that he has absolutely no desire to watch.
Pros: funny and heartwarming Cons: not long enough
Hanging Up is a 2000 release from Columbia Tri-Star Pictures. It is rated PG-13 and is 95 minutes long. This movie is a comedy directed by Diane Keaton and based on the book by Delia Ephron.
Pros: Makes ya laugh, makes ya cry! Cons: Matthau should have had more screen time
Last night I rented Hanging Up. This was a movie I had wanted to see when it came out in the theatre. I had seen the preview yet never did see it actually showing in any theatres. I assumed it was a bomb and didn't hang around long. I pretty much...
My husband and I finally had a day without the children and thought going to a movie would be a nice way to spend some of the time. Being we were without kids, we could see a movie we wanted to see. We narrowed it down to two choices, "Hanging Up" and...
I just finished watching this spectacular movie called Hanging up which stars Meg Ryan, Lisa Kudrow, Walter Matthau, and Diane Keaton who also directed it.
This movie had more of an affect on me than I thought it would. When I saw the...
Pros: The death of a parent is a powerful topic Cons: The powerful topic is given a not so powerful treatment here
In Hanging Up, Meg Ryan teams for the fourth time with Nora Eprhon, the screenwriter who also brought us When Harry Met Sally, Sleepless in Seattle and You've Got Mail.
Unlike those three hugely successful romantic comedies, Hanging Up seems...
Pros: realistic, well-acted, funny and sad Cons: too realistic for me
Hanging Up is a 2000 release from Columbia Tri-Star Pictures. It is rated PG-13 and is 95 minutes long. It is a comedy directed by Diane Keaton and based on the book by Delia Ephron.
Pros: The actors and actresses, Meg Ryan, Diane Keaton, Walter Matthau Cons: The storyline, not a comedy, slow parts
Since my husband works most nights, I wanted a movie I could watch without feeling like he was being left out. I had seen some previews of this movie and it looked interesting and funny. I actually had another movie in my hands at the time but saw...
Pros: Stellar cast, touching story, some funny moments Cons: Mediocre photographic efforts, unconvincing age differences, bad mesh of good elements
JUST HANG UP. Aside the the obvious double entendre with Dad shuffling off his mortal coil, and the middle aged girls with their "hang ups" the biggest determent to enjoying this movie was the fact that they never did..hang up, that is. This is...
Pros: Good cast... Cons: Expected more because of the cast...
My good friend and I just returned from seeing the film, "Hanging Up." While it was definitely not a waste of an evening, I left feeling as if there should have been more to the film.
Pros: Mathau has one good scene early in movie. Meg Ryan is pretty good in the film. One Scene is very well directed and acted late in the movie when the sisters finally all get together. Cons: Watching good actresses wasting their talents on sub sit-com junk like this. Mathau is given little to do in his last film role.
I wasn't expecting it to be very good, but I was hoping it wouldn't be an utterly worthless waste of time and talent--esepcially since it is the last screen appearance by the great Walter Mathau.
Last weekend my boyfriend and I went to the movies. In my hometown we have a theatre that has 11 different cinemas. We were originally going to see Ben Affleck's "BOILER ROOM", but to my surprise it wasn't on. So a friend of mine that works...
I saw this movie because, truthfully, I am a big Meg Ryan fan and find most of her films fun and/or interesting. I also like Lisa Kudrow, both in her few movies as well as in Friends. Diane Keaton is a good actress and I've enjoyed her in The...
Three sisters-Eve (Meg Ryan), Georgia (Diane Keaton) and Maddy (Lisa Kudrow)-deal with love, death and the telephone when they learn that their father...More at HotMovieSale.com
