Pros: Physical Comedy Cons: Doesn't Take the Disease Seriously
After watching this movie I was amazed at how lightly this movie makes of a real disease.. Alcoholism is a very real disease. Not only does it affect the Alcoholic but the family and friends as well.
The movie only touched on the effects...

Pros: Provides a basic view of rehab. Bullock performs well. Cons: All of the funny scenes were on the previews/commercials
28 Days is a dramatic interpretation of a month in the life of an addict. Life in a rehabilitation center is viewed with a touch of humor and humility, spirit and compassion. The movie, unlike many addicts’ lives, ends on a happy note.

Pros: Bullock, the cast Cons: Story is rushed, needed to be more serious
I saw this movie because I like Sandra Bullock. She is kind of the girl next door, except that she is famous, successful, and a star. So, maybe that makes her not the girl next door?
Oh well, on to the movie. I will not rehash the plot, but...

Pros: Sandra Bullock Is Very Good Cons: Cliched Story Can't Decide to be Comedy or Drama
Gwen is impossible to love. Now just how is that possible when you’ve got the ever-lovable Sandra Bullock in the role? Actually this may be the closest she has ever come to questionable behavior and unlikable actions during the course of a film. But it’s...

Pros: Some good acting, some honest moments Cons: Type casting and predictable plot
Sigh.
I went to see Sandra B. stretch herself as an actress. I think she did try and does show potential for doing this. However, she can't get there if the script won't allow it and this by the numbers Hollywood script holds her firmly in...

Pros: Steve Buscemi, Elezabeth Perkins, Alan Tudyk, Marianne Jean-Baptiste Cons: went for the cheap laughs, sold itself short.
There I was with two tickets in hand, sitting at the preview, excited to be able to see 28 Days three days before its opening--and for free! This film certainly had moments--moments of poignant sadness, moments where they went for the easy laugh....

Pros: fun Cons: a little messy
By all appearances, Gwen Cummings (Sandra Bullock) is a happy drunk. In the first few minutes of 28 Days, you see her partying intensively at a standard-looking movie-bar (dark with neon), having blurry sex with her boyfriend Jasper (Dominic West),...

Pros: Some really funny sceenes and touching realities of group life in therapy. Cons: Not a date movie.
The reason I went to see "28 Days" was because I though Bullock was an interesting actress, at least from the commercials about the film, she appeared to be playing a funny role.
There is some typical scenes in this movie of group...

Pros: Great story, educational, good lesson, funny Cons: A little predictable
Sandra Bullock's newest movie is sure to be a hit. 28 days is an excellently made film. Gwen (Bullock) is an often-drunk, crazy, out-of-control woman spending most of her time getting wasted with her boyfriend Jasper.
Gwen is sentenced to 28...

Pros: Sandra Bullock Cons: The corny singing and going-ons in Serenity Glen

Pros: a film that has everything and in just the right amounts Cons: maybe a little too optimistic for the premise
I usually stick to romantic comedies, but after While You Were Sleeping, I give most anything with Sandra Bullock in it a try. This movie wasn't what I expected, but turned out enjoyable to watch just the same. The best thing about this film is that it...

Pros: Well balanced, ambitious; strong supporting cast, Bullock was fantastic Cons: Touchy subject for some; questionable how realistic the settings are
Most people that watch a movie have a schema that they have to use to pigeonhole a movie, so that it fits into their paradigm of how things are. Unfortunately, this practice sometimes leaves us without a clear understanding of the situation as we will...

Pros: If laughing and crying in a movie is a pro to you, you'll like it Cons: A bit of stereotyped characters never hurt anyone
I must first admit that I have never been a Sandra Bullock fan. Watching her past films, Speed, While You Were Sleeping and Hope Floats, were the result a few nights of illegal cable (hey, I was poor) and insomnia. While I was trying to sleep, Sandra...
