Pros: Action, suspense, excellent cast, excellent, original story line Cons: None
Frequency is an excellent movie. It had a slow start, being shown in the not quite top movies first, and now it's made its way upward to the A theatres where it should have been shown in the first place.
Starring Dennis Quaid as the...

Pros: great, engaging plot, good acting Cons: not for the cynic or the extreme rationalist
If you read my previous review, you heard about how I went to Blockbuster looking for some sort of recompense for the horrible excuse for a movie I had rented the night before. Well I got that credit for a new rental, and last night my friends and I used...

Pros: good story, well-written characters, solid suspense, great sense of pacing.
gotta love Bayside accents. Cons: annoying penchant for slowly falling objects, heinous last five minutes.
Don't get me wrong, I love Edward Norton as much as the next man, but Primal Fear is a really really bad movie. Except for the last breathtaking five minutes, where Holbit waves his magic wand and makes it all seem worthwhile. Well, Frequency kind of...

Pros: Emotional, thrilling, adventurous, psychological Cons: After the opening, is kind of slow until the end
This movie was the best at the end. I like it though. It had its high points through the beginning and the middle, esp at the beginning when Quaid had to climb out of that sewer because of the explosion.
This movie had a lot of emotion in it...

Pros: Good Dennis Quaid performance Cons: A Couple of Sleepy Moments (needs Starbucks)
Many of my friends and family have no idea that I am from an alternate universe. I hope to pass back over someday, but for the time being, I'm stuck here. The alternate universe I come from split off from the universe you all know and love back in the...

Pros: Sci-fi baseline, moving father/son moments, believable acting, very good suspense Cons: Some scenes that deal with the altering of time and objects are too far fetched
WHY I WATCHED THIS MOVIE: Several friends and co-workers told me that this movie was good after they saw it in the theater. I waited to rent it on video and found it to be just as they said - a very good and suspenseful movie fit for a Friday night at...

Pros: Most of the Film Cons: The Horrid Finale
Directly from the beginning of Frequency, Gregory Hoblit refrains from taking anything at ease. The film opens with a rush to stop a fire amongst a group of New York firefighters, their lives on the line for every second. The film does not keep a...

Pros: Wonderful Premise Cons: Serial Killer Subplot detracts from Father/Son storyline
Frequency starts out like Contact, then glides into Backdraft before settling down into what it really is. Field of Dreams meets The Bone Collector. Sure I could have said Seven instead. But that would imply that this is a good movie with a serial...

Pros: Interesting, Great Plot, Cons: No big name actors, similar plot seen before
This is one of those movies where it makes you stop and think. Mixing time and space into a murder makes for a real good plot. This movie begins in New York City in the year 1969 with a gasoline truck's radio telling you about the Amazing Mets in the...

Pros: Heartwarming, Suspenseful and makes you think about the effects of changing the past Cons: Sci-Fi fans may criticize the holes in the the time travel theory that are posed
I had originally seen Frequency in theaters with my little sisters friends (babysitting). I had wanted to see the film and talked my sister into going to see it too so I could watch. Now, my sister is 13 and at that age where all you want to do is smack...

Pros: Awesome plot, totally original and very entertaining movie. Cons: I didn't see any weaknesses in this movie.
Whenever I rent a movie that I don't know much about, I try to stay open minded and not raise my expectations to high. That was the way I approached Frequency and I was definitely not disappointed. I had a choice between Frequency and Mission Impossible...

Pros: theme, acting, dialogue Cons: substandard visual effects
I wasn't sure what to expect before seeing Frequency. I didn't anticipate the level of excitement and suspense I encountered. I thought the movie might be a "bland" science fiction. One the the greatest adjustments I initially experienced in...

Pros: An excellent blend of science fiction and action thriller Cons: Not for the serious scientific mind
Warning to those of you who are scientifically minded - some suspension of reality is necessary for the enjoyment of this movie (DUH!! That's why its called science FICTION!) I myself am one of these people, and I am here to say that I thoroughly...

Pros: Is it a feel-good mystery or a mystery that feels good? Cons: Nick-of-time ending, while nice, is unlikely. Dad's "importance" to murder mystery is moreso.
I gotta admit, I was a bit skeptical when I was told that this was a "must see" movie, but on a recent Saturday night I wandered the local video rental store and decided that this was the night I'd find out!
Reading on the rental...

Pros: Pretty much everything Cons: It wasn't longer
What's the plot? "An accidental cross-time radio link due to solar flares connects father and son across 30 years. The son tries to save his father's life, but then must fix the consequences."
What exactly are those...
