Pros: It's nice to see someone try so hard to save a marriage. Cons: But the characters and actions in this movie are just ridiculous.
When I heard the description of Committed, I was expecting a light-hearted romantic comedy about a man's midlife crisis, and the woman who loves him enough to bring him out of it, so they can go on to live happily ever after. What I got was a real ...

Pros: Goran Visnjic, Heather Graham, Interesting story, funny Cons: some underdevloped characters
Committed (2000) Rated R
Stars: Heather Graham (Jolin), Casey Affleck (Jay), Luke Wilson (Carl), Goran Visnjic (Neil)
Here is another review of an off-beat film that a lot of people have either never heard of or hated, that I really...

Pros: Goran Visnjic is good in a small role Cons: Everything else... writing / acting / story, etc...
Heather Graham has used her charming personality and undeniable sex appeal to play fitting characters in Boogie Nights, Austin Powers 2, and Bowfinger. Most recently however, she returned to her independent film roots with...

Pros: Funny, good as a diversion, that kind of thing. Cons: A little obvious at the end.
When Committed Begins...
Jo, the main character played by Heather Graham with dreadlocks, is in an institution. In methodical narrative, she spills out her reasons for being there: flaky husband takes off to "find himself"...

Pros: The appealing Heather Graham. Cons: Graham's gradually less appealing character; few laughs.
"Committed" is what Joline (Heather Graham) is to her deadbeat husband Carl (Luke Wilson) through thick and thin, for better or for worse. Audiences, however, are likely not to feel the same devotion to Lisa Krueger's stridently offbeat comedy...

Pros: Quirky and good script, solid acting Cons: somewhat murky message
Joline (Heather Graham) is a very loyal woman. I empathize. I have often been accused of not letting know when to let go of a situation that has spiraled out of control or give up on a person who has rewarded friendship or love with betrayal. But I...

Pros: smart script by Lisa Krueger Cons: a bit too quirky for some
Lisa Krueger’s “Committed” is better than it actually looks. It’s a fine example of a perfectly-constructed Hollywood screenplay. It’s not a GREAT screenplay of original caliber like “Chinatown” (1974) or “Being John Malkovich” (1999) but it is very much...

Pros: gets out of the NY-LA axis Cons: everything else
I only saw this movie to catch the cinematic debut of Everclear's Art Alexakis and I wasn't expecting much, but had no idea of its impending dreadfulness. Heather Graham - who was pretty good in "Bowfinger," "Boogie Nights" and...

Pros: Heather be thy name Cons: slower than it had to be.
Remember the Meg Ryan turkey of a few years back, "Addicted To Love,"
where she & Matthew Broderick stalked their exes? Didn't you just want
to yell at the screen, "You're Meg Ryan! Guys will line up around the ...

Pros: unimposing, funny, deep Cons: side plots drown out main theme
Few things are as annoying to informed film viewers as misrepresented film plots. Take Miramax's latest domestic "indie" release, "Committed" as a case in point. Reading reviews and promotional material before seeing the film, I...

Pros: Heather, Nice story in beginning Cons: Plot dries up halfway through film
The following is a review not necessarily intended to make sense of a movie not necessarily intended to make sense:
Heather Graham, love her, gifted young actress, perhaps most gifted young American Actress not named Christina Ricci, trapped in...

Pros: It has Heather Graham in it, it's better than most television Cons: Very predictable, annoying characters
It starts off with an interesting enough premise, a husband leaves his obnoxious wife. Sure, Heather Graham is beautiful and all around sweet in most of her roles, but the new age religion thing about her is obnoxious. It's like "Dharma and Gregg" kind...

Pros: Unexpectedly funny! Quirky and charming! Cons: none, I was pleasantly surprised!
Okay, I am not a fan of Heather Graham. In fact, I have no idea what motivated me to pluck this movie off the shelf, but in some way I think it was calling to me "waaattch meeeee caaaaseeeeey, waaaaatch meeeeee..."
So I rented it. AND I LOVED...

Committed
by webead ,Feb 04 '05
Pros: Affleck Cons: Predictable, Unrealistic, Poor Acting and not a comedy movie!
Commited stars (Heather Graham) along with (Casey Affleck) and Luke Wilson. Its the story of Joline who is determined to find her ex-husband who is in the process of a mid-life crisis.
Committed was not at all what I expected it was lacking in comedy which was ultimately the genre. It was beyond stupid and un-realistic, Casey Affleck delivered a reasonable performance, Graham's recent roles have been lack-luster and this is not an improvement.
