Pros: some exciting action, a few innovative stunts, interesting premise Cons: too many "Matrix-like" action moves, slow in parts, could have been better
With the sequel to Mission Impossible, they had to do things bigger and better, and for that John Woo was brought in to Direct the picture. Woo with his style of action films seemed to be the perfect fit for this film, and with Cruise reprising his role ...

Pros: Thandie Newton is hot. Story is straightforward. Cons: Action scenes, rather than characterization, drive the film.
Considering that Brian De Palma's Mission: Impossible - a 1996 adaptation of Bruce Geller's Cold War-era TV series about an elite group of intelligence operatives known as the Impossible Mission Force - was a big hit for its star Tom Cruise and ...

Pros: Action scene's and special effects rival those of James Bond Movies; none of that boring ol' cerebral stuff, like plot, dialogue or character development to get in the way of the (thankfully) mind-numbing, non-stop action. Cons: We already have James Bond Movies; story-line & plot details, where discernible, exceed even Hollywood's almost non-existent reality-boundaries.
Due To The Many Wondrous Resources At The Disposal Of Our Media,
And Our Equally Scarce Resources For Defending Against Them; The
Regularly Scheduled "Plot Summary" Normally Seen At This Position

Pros: Thandie Newton, Tom Cruise, action sequences Cons: Characters take back seat to action
The Impossible Mission Force is back - well, sort of. Tom Cruise and Ving Rhames have returned for "Mission Impossible 2," but nothing else remains the same from the first film. This time, they're on a real mission. John Woo, who made a name...

Pros: Chases, shootings, blowing stuff up, and a pretty girl. What else you need? Cons: could they make some scenes any more unreal?
M:I-2, the return of Tom Cruise, sequel to big action movie, bikes, espionage, intrigue, shooting and Anthony Hopkins, and the hard nipples girl (read on I'll explain)
The premise to the film:
Virus created, virus antidote stolen, Go get...

Pros: great action, cool locations, special effects are cool Cons: lousy plot/characters, overrated due to hype, bad guy too stupid to have a chance of winning against cruise.
Beyond the clear hype this movie gives, well one actually has to consider whether the movie is just plain good or not. Mission Impossible 2 is definitely different from the first one. The first Mission Impossible is a story about a spy who used his...

Pros: John Woo likes to work with genuine polygons. Cons: Robert Towne delivers a screenplay full of sprites.
There are three reasons I should never have watched M:I 2. The first is that I make a point of avoiding Tom Cruise movies. The second is that I make a point of avoiding sequels (particularly when I'm bored by the first film in a series). And...

Pros: Great Action. John Woo's Direction. Summer Fun Cons: The Plot. Slow and Dry at times.
Mission Impossible 2 is a mixed bag for me. In many ways it’s like getting a lap dance from a 72 year old woman with hemorrhoids. It’s fast and furious at times, but slow and boring others. I walked out of the theater with a stupid grin...

Pros: It's got action and Tom Cruise! Cons: It's got action and Tom Cruise.. and that's it!
This review contains a few spoilers. Breakdown of Actors: 65% Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise, protagonist) 15% Ambrose (Dougray Scott, antagonist) 15% Nyah Hall (Thandie Newton, "love interest") 3% Luther Stickell (Ving Rhames, "teammember") 2% ...

Pros: A few good stunt scene, Tom Cruise and the lead lady Cons: Every thing else
The opening shot of this movie itself was bad. Let me confess at the beginning that I don't see too many English movies. My native tongue is Hindi and see most of the movies in that. And most Hindi movies are exaggerated mess. I can see where they draw...

Pros: special effects? Cons: egads... everything else!
It has been said that there are only seven stories to tell, yet a thousand ways to tell each story. Every so often, it seems that movie writers run out of ideas and look back to successful television shows. They then do a “remake” of those shows into...

Pros: I want those sunglasses! Cons: overhyped action sequences, uninspired dialogue, predictable plot twists
OK, I finally admit it. I was one of the few and far between who actually ENJOYED Brian De Palmas big screen adaptation of the classic TV series Mission Impossible. Gasp all you like, I still watch it quite often. That being the case, the John Woo...

Pros: Superb action - John Woo style Cons: No plot, no character development, NO DICE!
Opener: This movie is all about ACTION, and very little else. It's very well-done action, and I was never bored, nor do I feel cheated out of my $15 (could someone explain to my fiance that she could pay for a movie, just once?). That said, however,...

Pros: Fast Pace, Great Stunts and Special Effects Cons: Cruise tries to do it all alone
The opening scene gives you an overall view of the movie's mission. Tom Cruise fans will see this movie over and over, and anticipate its video release. So what is this movie about? I will give you three guesses and the first two don't count.

Pros: Beautifully choreographed action scenes Cons: The story is a bit lightweight, and Anthony Hopkin's character makes a really nasty crack about women. Nice to know misogyny is alive and well in Tinseltown
Director John Woo and screenwriter Robert Towne (of Chinatown fame) have paired to come up with that rarest of Hollywood birds, a sequel that is much more enjoyable, and a much better movie than its predecessor. An action adventure wrapped around a sweet...
