Pros: "Parents" is funny but also delivers a good story. Not just inane humor. Stiller and De Niro great. Cons: The humor slows way down once in a while. Not a bad thing though, in my opinion.
"Meet The Parents" is one of the new movies, along with "Something about Mary" and "American Pie" that are resurrecting the old juvenile comedy genre. Remember "Porky's" and "Fast Times At Ridgemont...

Pros: DeNiro and Stiller have good chemistry. Cons: Movie isn't as funny as some critics would have you believe.
Ever worry about taking your boyfriend/girlfriend home to meet your parents? Many people do worry, even if their dad is not a former CIA operative. But compared to what happens to Ben Stiller in Meet The Parents, there is not much for them to worry...

Pros: Great humor. Not too gross and crude. Cons: Some scenes were unbearably hard to watch because I felt so bad for Ben Stiller.
"You a pot-head Focker?"
Sorry, I just had to do it. It's one of the funniest movie lines to me. When Robert De Niro said that to Ben Stiller, I was on the ground, laughing my butt off. I loved this movie actually. I thought the humor value...

Pros: Funny; Make you feel good Cons: Used God's name in vain a time or two
It was Saturday afternoon and I was looking forward to an uneventful evening. So, I was delighted when my friend called suggesting dinner. Dinner was great and we caught up on all the "gossip." We didn't feel like calling it a night, so we...

Pros: well written, great characters, good pacing Cons: not much to do with mother character
Greg, (Ben Stiller) a male nurse, is in love with Pam, a school teacher. He practices proposing while putting a catheter in one of his patients (an eeeEWWWW moment) who encourages him that he will do well. He goes to pick her up from work and practices...

Pros: multigenerational appeal in its blatant humor Cons: the comedy eventually runs out of steam
Great humor comes from simple, universal truths, and there are few rites-of-passage as unnerving as meeting your prospective spouse's family. That's the dreaded dilemma facing Greg Focker (Ben Stiller) who realizes that it's important to get her...

Pros: Funny and entertaining Cons: Nothing extraordinary
For once this is a movie that didn't suffer from a ruined plot due to over detailed previews. In fact, when I went into the theater to watch this movie, I barely had any clue as to what it would be a bout. All I knew about this movie is that it starred...

Pros: Great comedy, great portrayal of father/daughter relationship Cons: None
This movie is a movie that all daughters and all fathers of daughters should watch. For any of you women out there who can relate to your father being a bit protective of you, you need to see this movie. It is a funny, straight to the point movie that...

Pros: Good performances by Stiller and DeNiro, relatively clean fun Cons: Not as funny as advertised, some gags overplayed
You love your girlfriend. You're with her all the time. She's the love of your life, and you can't imagine living without her. You would swim shark-infested waters, do the Ironman Triathlon...you would do anything for her.
Except meet her...

Pros: Some very funny situations Cons: Believability
My wife dragged me to this movie against my protests that it would be too painful to watch. I mean, any guy who has grown up and dated girls whose fathers remember Vietnam vividly, dreads seeing another guy in that situation. I did survive the...

Pros: Stiller and DeNiro are excellent; Generally pretty darn funny Cons: Some gross out type stuff that won't appeal to everyone
Most of us can recall that moment when we met the love our life's parents. It was more than likely the single most nerve-wracking experience we've ever had. Men in particular seem to dread meeting the parents of their significant other. Deep down,...

Pros: Beautiful chemistry between Robert DeNiro and Ben Stiller. Cons: Most roles are throwaway, quite predictable.
Every year, my family meets up with the rest of my family at some park. I think it's called a "family reunion" or something, but aside from the games we play (never a dull moment then), it's perhaps the worst experience you have to go through....

Pros: Do you KNOW how much I hate writing Pros and Cons after my review? Cons: Around the time we come to Kevin's mansion.
Wow. I just wanted to say that. This movie is without a doubt, the < I>funniest</I> movie I have seen since Mystery Men. And that was a long time ago.
Ben Stiller, who in fact played a great role in Mystery...

Pros: The cast is great, very funny, Cons: The Focker jokes get a little old
I'm going to start this opinion by saying that Meet The Parents is a very good movie and I really enjoyed watching it. You should rent it today!
But wait, Don't hit the Not Helpful button yet, there's more to this opinion than the previous...

Pros: Ben Stiller, subtle and not so subtle humor Cons: Could have had more of a "twist"
I'm a fan of just about anything Ben Stiller does, so it was easy for me to like this film. Stiller plays Greg Focker (yes, that's his name), a well intentioned nurse that wants to propose to the love of his life. The only catch is, he feels the...
