Pros: Great stories and writing Cons: Low budget, goofy guys

Pros: compelling story/characters. good acting Cons: DVD's aren't good quality
Summary: A cross between a hip teen sit-com and an adult oriented drama, Buffy the Vampire Slayer evolved from its humble beginnings as just-another-made-for-TV horror series into something deeper and surprisingly poignant. When I first heard about ... read more

Pros: Great moments and great episodes throughout Cons: A few bad apples nearly spoil the whole bunch
Summary: In 1994, Joss Whedon got to write a script for a movie about a cheerleader destined to fight vampires. The script got meddled with, and though the movie was moderately successful, Whedon was disappointed with the results. Three years later, ... read more

Pros: Great dialogue and impressive acting from Gellar, Head, Alyson Hannigan and Armin Shimerman. Cons: Very cheesy at times, writers obviously don't "get" the show they're writing for.
Summary: Synopsis Buffy the Vampire Slayer had humble origins. A flop movie that was "less ILM, more Ed Wood" cum WB mid-season replacement. By rights, Buffy the Vampire Slayer should never have become this successful. But it did. As hideously cheesy ... read more

Pros: All of season one; nice commentary. Cons: Not enough extras, but it was only season one.
Summary: During the summer of 2001, I got bored and started watching random things on tv, including a movie from 1992 named "Buffy, the Vampire Slayer." I wasn't that impressed but decided to check out a re-run of the show of the same name, if only to see how it ... read more

Pros: A great cast with great chemistry along with excellent writing. Cons: It was too short of a season.

Pros: Fun. Good characterization. Well imagined and executed.
Cons: Lurches dangerously toward dumb at times. So-so SFX. A bit violent. Gellar's slutty outfits.

Pros: Sterling mix of action, drama and comedy; excellent acting and characters you identify with Cons: Compared to later Seasons, Season One pales.
Summary: One reason movie sequels seem to do so well is that you already "know" the characters. You've grown to care about what happens to them. The only drawback is that up until the sequel comes out, you're stuck with the same old two hours of your old ... read more
