Pros: Best attempt yet at recreating a milestone in jurisprudence. Cons: Too long! A made for TV movie, this would have done better as mini-series.
Contrary to popular belief, Nuremberg is not a remake of the Spencer Tracy/Burt Lancaster B&W classic from 1959 (Justice At Nuremberg). That movie dealt with the lesser proceedings, the so-called "American" trials which took place at the...
Pros: 3 minutes of graphic footage gives an idea of the actual horror of the war Cons: The rest of the film ( at 3 hours ) is also torture
Here's your challenge...take the trial at Nuremberg, try to paint a human side to the German SS officers, make the film at least 3 hours, add a sideline of romance, and make it all sell to television.
This trial was indeed a serious trial, one...
Pros: Alec Baldwin Cons: 1 hour too long in scripting.
Recently I have taken to watching war movies in order to see what we can learn from the past so as not to repeat the errors. Isn't that what history is supposed to teach us all.
In Nuremberg the trial and the movie are one hour too long.

Pros: Good historical film, important information, Alec Baldwin does a decent job Cons: Bad acting, somewhat weak script, terribly scenery, terrible casting, bad accents
The primary Russian in the film does not look or sound Russian. The scenery in the beginning of the film is way too clean for being in a war devastated area. This film basically stars Alec Baldwin and Jill Hennessy and the rest of the actors are ...
Pros: accurate portrayal of (part of) the Nuremberg trial, excellent acting. Cons: slow in places, long, too much emphasis on Jackson's alleged affair with his secretary.
I wouldn't recommend Nuremberg to anyone who does not take an interest in WWII. If you're not aware of the back stories behind some of the key players, the defendants, the lawyers et al, then you can't really appreciate the subtle nuances brought to each character. One reviewer complained that the film tried to "humanize the defendants" well, part of the horror of WWII is that the perpetrators WERE human. The men who, marched millions of people to their deaths could be your next door neighbour, your co-worker or even your brother. Nuremberg was long to be sure and I really don't think anybody cared a fig about Justice Jackson's affair with his secretary (I really feel too much emphasis was placed on his personal life). I think the film was well cast, the man who played Georring looked eerily like him, the same with Hess. The acting was quite good and even though it was slow at times, the direction was quite good as well.
