Pros: none Cons: false advertising, dishonest
I have parents that after years of owning a computer, still don't know the difference between a left and right mouse click...they are absolutely clueless when it comes to surfing the internet, to copying and pasting anything, and this is after dozens (if ...

Video Professor is a scam. Be very careful!
by notbook99 ,Apr 08 '06
Pros: None Cons: automatically takes $80 from your account each month
I ordered a program from Video Professor. At the time that I ordered, I told the order taker that I only wanted that particular program. I did not want to receive future programs unless I specifically ordered them. I received the program I ordered. However, some time later I received another program that I did not order and did not want. I called customer service. They said to send it back. I said I had no intention of spending my own money and time standing in line at the Post Office. Then they offered to send a self-addressed, pre-paid mailing label. I agreed and waited for them to send it. Apparently, more than one month went by and I still had not received the label. But, they deducted $69.95 from my checking account anyway. I called them about this. They said they would make sure the label got to me. A month later, it still had not arrived. I called again. They promised another label. To date, I haven't received the return label; but, they still have $69.95 of my money taken.

Good Training CD's, but watch out for the free CD offer
by mtida999 ,Jun 19 '05
Pros: The lessons were clear, concise, repeatable, and well illustrated on the screen. Cons: Danger - Accepting a free CD enrolls you in a monthly delivery subscription service.
I bought a box set of 4 Video Professor Training CD's at Frys Electronics for $29.99. They included Windows (XP ME 98) training, Internet Training, Outlook Training, and Word Training.
I found all of the lessons to be well presented and easy to understand. However, after having read in Epinions the problems people have encountered with ordering the free CD's (and therefore enrolling in an ongoing subscription service) I will continue to buy any future Video Professor lessons from a retail store to avoid the subscription scam.
By the way, somebody has to be paying for all of the expensive TV ads where Video Professor is being promoted. Do you think giving away free CD's is a profitable way to run a company? Is an offer too good to be true? Then you had better read the fine print very carefully. Duh !!!

5 hours 10 minutes of work saved me from Video professor RIP OFF!
by tantruevn ,Jun 09 '07
Pros: with work and money, you can save yourself from the video professors trap. Cons: nightmare on elm st is a better video.
No review because i didnt open the video. It arrived as a lie, and i knew it! Older people may not reconize the first signs.
I was a hard sell. So they offered me LOTS. It didn't come with the package. So I checked their reputation..and saw tons of more lies to come.
The reason i called is "People PC"...great folks...recommended them. THEY HAVE BEEN FOOLED.
So im down 10 mins work and $6.95 that ive spent to order the professor.
I call and say simply--"its unopend and i pass."
5 hour work nightmare begins! Then $9 to send it back.
I won't explain it--order it, and live it yourself is the only way to really understand it.
