Pros: Incredibly orchestrated and a benchmark for our times. Amazes in every way possible. Cons: Those who fancy a breezy two hours will do best to avoid.
Yes, this review is written backwards. Start from the end and work your way back, paragraph-by-paragraph. Seriously, if I get one more email asking me to clarify this, I'll bust a nut.
It's ironic that a film about short-term memory...

Pros: Greatest Movie ever made. Honestly. No movie has ever come forth with such profound understanding. Cons: Very complex to unravel. Although I beileve once solved, will be very simple.
Dear Epinions I read your review, thought I would send you this. I sent also this to Andy Klien at Salon, the review website. The first part is etymology of the names. The second part is just my speculation. After watching the movie a few times, I ...

Pros: Interesting plot. Good acting. Ingenious, mysterious, dark and depressing. Cons: Almost overwhelming experience. Hard to understand what's going on at first.
"Memento" is a harrowing experience both visually and plot-wise. To be truthful I haven't seen a film as bizarre as this one since "Being John Malkovich".While this film isn't as good as Malkovich it does have two things going for it--An inspired plot...

Pros: Involving and intelligent. Wonderful performances. Cons: Can be a little hard to follow.
In conclusion, I strongly recommend "Memento" to the serious filmgoer's out there. It is a very intelligent film, well acted with a strong script and direction. I plan to see it again, to see if knowing what I now know changes my perception of the film....

Pros: Truly original, engrossing, and thought-provoking. Cons: Can be confusing to the casual viewer.
Ten minutes after you read this review, you may not remember a word of it. But if you were to really focus now, you could retain at least the gist of it, for as long as you wanted to.
But what if you couldn't? What if no matter how fast you...

Pros: Guy Pearce, Christopher Nolan, message Cons: Very difficult to watch
Either out of boredom or something else, I took a long break from Epinions and reviewing films. But after seeing several good films, I wanted to discuss them again. The film that truly gave me that fire again, was "Memento".
Discussing the...

Pros: a movie to think about, to ponder, to conclude. Cons: slow and confusing.
Strange Indeed.
Strange. I felt something different. Something I don't normally experience. What is it? How does it translate into words for a movie review? How in the hell do I say what I felt throughout the course of...

Pros: A real head-spinner; uncommonly intelligent and clever for this day in age, without being contrived. Cons: Not for the mentally estranged (besides the main character, of course).
"Can somebody find me my magical book of adjectives?! Thank You!"
Once in a long while (even fewer and farther between these days), there comes one of those common sense-defying, brain-busting films that catches the film world off...

Pros: CHOKE-HOLD GRIPPING. Cons: Cons?
In these days of great uncertainty and insecurity, Memento stands out as an artwork truly in touch with the zeitgeist - even more so than earlier this year when it was in theaters. What, after all, do we really know about the very recent past...

Pros: Unorthodox, but brilliant storyline Cons: This movie requires your full attention
Memento is more of a curiosity than a movie. And as with all curiosities, it can only be told once and retain its value. As a storytelling technique, this tale could never be duplicated again, or even approximated in any form in any other movie because...

Pros: Such a crazy concept that is so amazing to watch unfold. Cons: I left with more questions than I started with.
Memento is one of the most original concepts in a long time. It stars Guy Pearce (Rules of Engagement, LA Confidential, and Prisilla, Queen of the Desert) as a man, Leonard Shelby, with a rare condition. He no longer has the ability to retain short term...

Pros: A Brilliantly Written, Acted and Directed Story. One of the year's best films. Cons: Not a flaw to be found.
Memento is a film that people will be talking about. They will be talking when they leave the theater. They will create message boards and chatrooms on the Internet, which will lead to websites with the film’s timeline as people desperately, try to fit...

Pros: Very decent acting from Guy Pearce Cons: The story and the script, very important elements of a good movie but neglected here.
After hearing all the hype about how wonderful and thought-provoking Christopher Nolan's "classic" is supposed to be, I figured that it is my duty as a serious film buff to watch Memento. Now, I really wished I had Leonard Shelby's medical...

Pros: Great concept. Unpredictable ending. Guy Pearce is wonderful. Cons: Some people just can't get their minds around the chronology.
I had never heard of this movie before I went to see it the other day. My sister asked me if I wanted to go, but had no idea what it was about. I grabbed the news paper and noticed a little blurb that said it was about a man with no short term memory....
