Sometimes you think you know just what youre getting in a movie, just from the blurb on the box. Particular movies scream chick flick so loud that anyone with a Y chromosome runs screaming. Often, anything falling into the romantic...
Pros: clever script, funny lines, good acting from the leads. Cons: When you think about it, this is a pretty amoral story.
I swear to God, romantic movies p*ss me off. Considering that I’m one of those people who can’t even get a date to save my life, it is only natural that seeing people fall madly in love on screen makes me feel a little bitter (or maybe I’m just ...
Pros: Script, acting, accents. Cons: The Title(it's so dull-it's completely misleading)
Every year, a couple of Irish films come out that charm American audiences with their "top of the morning to ya" accents and their "the beautiful world is full of hope" hearts. From "Angela's Ashes" to "Waking Ned Devine," rarely does an Irish film...
I decided to see this movie because I was curious about Kate Hudson as I missed her in Almost Famous. She plays Lucy Owens in this Irish romantic comedy and the plot revolves around Lucy's current boy friend Adam.
Pros: Elegantly time-tripping narrative, ironies, fresh view of modern
Ireland.
Cons: Not a pretty picture, if people (especially women) are really
this way.
The title is a deliberate tease; by the end of the picture you barely know anything "about Adam" that you can trust - except that he's a talented liar and seducer who seems uncannily aware of what women - and men - really want. He's a young stranger who...
Pros: acting, cast, story, etc. Cons: none, really.
This is a very funny, charming film about a person named Adam(Stuart Townsend) who seems to fall into the hearts (and beds) of everyone, including a woman named Lucy(Kate Hudson), a waitress/singer who sees Adam is different. Adam is quiet, listens, and...
Charming to say the least by javagirl17 ,Apr 25 '08
Pros: Enjoyable twists. Good actors. Leaves you smiling. Cons: It's actually a horrible concept when you really think about it.
I really enjoyed this one. The story is truly unbelievable, and clearly thought of by a guy, but it's a very charming movie. Adam charms his way into the lives of three sisters and their brother. Even the mother falls for this guy (not in a sexual way or anything...don't get grossed out). All of the actors are very well chosen for their roles. The story is cute, and new in that usually if there were any movies made similar to this one, they usually have a much darker, scandalous tone rather than the light, airy one portrayed in this film. They found a way to make this story of scandal, infidelity, and lies (or truth twisting) into a movie that really just leaves you smiling. Kudos to all involved.
I can easily say I've watched this movie at least ten times and I'm not tired of it yet.
Lucy has finally met someone she can love for more than three weeks. Adam is tall, handsome, charming and full of surprises. He's as primal as his nam...More at HotMovieSale.com
