Pros: often funny, John Cusack, Billy Crystal Cons: sometimes overacted, relationships not developed very well between characters
The answer: quite a bit. My friend and I arrived at the theater early, and figuring the other three members of the group would be late, we walked to a bar down the street. It was "girl's night out," a tradition that lends itself to watching...

Pros: Hank Azaria, John Cusack & Billy Crystal Cons: The non-existent chemistry between Cusack and Julia Roberts, a dismal end
Well I've learnt my lesson - however tempting it might be don't ever judge a movie by the talent that it boasts. Yes the film is written by Billy Crystal, a favorite of mine and stars, get ready for this, Julia Roberts, Catherine Zeta-Jones, John...

Pros: John Cusack, who steals the movie from his two very beautiful co-stars Cons: Billy Crystal, who wrote and co-stars but doesn't steal the film from Cusack
Hardly a day goes by when, at some point, you hear about a couple separating. Perhaps it's a close friend. Perhaps it's a co-worker. Maybe it's even a friend of a friend.
Then again, most likely, it's a Hollywood romance gone sour.

Pros: acting, solid story Cons: none
This movie delivered exactly what it promised, a smart romantic comedy. It has a solid script with good dialogue and good acting.
The movie boasts an excellent cast including Catherine Zeta-Jones as the brat and actress Gwen, which she...

Pros: The opening fifteen minutes reminds us what a movie SHOULD be. Christopher Walken dazzles. . Cons: Everything else. Especially Cusack's character and Roberts' tired "Pretty Woman" schtick. Even Seth Green bores.
by Dane Youssef The premise of "America's Sweethearts" sets us up for an inspired, lacerating, in-your-face send-up of Hollywood and silly rom-com star vehicles. Then it turns into one of them. Like a young mind full of bright ideas, ...

Pros: sympathetic, yet individually outstanding, performances by everyone. Cons: the script's binary of sarcasm and romance isn't, ultimately, resolved.
The orbits of the nine planets of the solar system are not dependent on one another. In other words, Earth exists quite independently from Pluto. Yet without Pluto, the orbit of Earth -- and life on earth -- would be quite different if it in fact existed...

Pros: All the actors do their fair share of pleasing the audience Cons: It's not Oscar worthy, but who said it was trying?
It's not so often that Hollywood makes a stellar movie. A movie that moves you and makes you want to change your entire life because of its unbelievably powerful message. It's a rarity in the movie business, but sometimes that film comes along. This is...

Pros: Funny, great acting Cons: Some of the jokes are overdone
Ensemble casts don't often work in movies. Usually, when you put a lot of actors together, you get a mess (see Town and Country, actually don't see it). America's Sweethearts could have been such a movie. But, despite bad reviews from embarrassed...

Pros: Funny (at times), good satire on show biz (though exaggerated) Cons: mediocre plot that needs lots of help by star actors, Julia R. centric
I must admit this was not my first choice, since it was one of those evenings where I won in order to seeing a guy flick rather than doing the usual chick flick. Here we go and the movie was sold out. Anyway, second choice was America's Sweethearts (AS)...

Pros: Julia Roberts is pleasant, a couple of funny lines. Cons: The film is so lackluster, everyone seems to be sleepwalking.
Gwen Harrison and Eddie Thomas (Catherine Zeta-Jones and John Cusack) are famous actors who are married to each other and also have made nine films together. Six of those films grossed over $100 million, so when they break up, all of their fans are...

Pros: Cool cameos. The occassional one-liner. Cusack. Cons: Crystal. The script. The ending. And Julia Roberts must be stopped.
There's no feeling in this world worse than knowing that, consciously, you've wasted time when you know you could've been doing something constructive. Washing the dog, planning a rapid weight loss program for yourself, or even sitting through re-runs...

Pros: Sharp and funny script, insightful look at Hollywood Cons: Some of the humor doesn't quite work
I have to admit that I have a weakness for any film in which Hollywood mocks, pokes fun at, or spoofs itself, its principles or its ideals. In America’s Sweethearts, yet another typical love story, director Joe Roth throws in the edgy touch of also...

Pros: Great cast, really funny moments, good script, well-done. Cons: Predictable at times, but not much else.
I have a few rules about movies according to the actors in them. For example, the "Kevin Costner Rule" is, "Don't see any of his movies because they are all overhyped, overbudgeted, underscripted and he can't act."
The "Tim Robbins" rule...

Pros: hilarious in parts Cons: Cusak and Roberts lacked chemistry
America's Sweethearts is the story of the kind of people we love to hate- celebrities. The celebrities in question here are Gwen Harrison (Catherine Zeta-Jones), a spoiled actress, and her ex-beau Eddie Thomas (Johan Cusak). While Gwen is shacking up...

Well it's summertime, a few weeks left till college starts up so what left to do this summer? See the highly anticipated new movie America's Sweethearts.
