Pros: It's a caper movie Cons: It's not a GOOD caper movie
The Score (2001) I can't say how many times I searched in vain for this movie in the #@$% data base, preparing some scathing comments in my mind, only to be diverted with even more scathing comments about the freakin data base. Well, I finally ...
Pros: Three generations of great actors bring intelligent life to a heist movie Cons: None
"The Score" is the kind of movie that "Mission Impossible" wishes it could have been. The plot is as old as the hills with a major heist being the main point of the film. But what separates this movie from the others is wonderful acting and excellent...
Pros: DeNiro, Norton, Brando, Bassett Cons: Predictable, with questionable definition of protagonist
"The Score" is a crime caper whose script is mo match for its talent. Here, we get the best talent of three generations. Robert DeNiro stars as Nick, a jewel thief who has made a home and a business for himself in Montreal. He has a strict policy on his...
Pros: It just feels good to watch a good break in every now and then Cons: Angela Bassett is in the film for no apparent reason.
A really nice looking golden scepter is the score in The Score, a film about an elaborate break in and theft occurring at Montreal's Custom House. This film starring Robert Deniro, Marlon Brando, Edward Norton and Angela Bassett moves along at a...
The Score has a great ensemble cast. Robert DeNiro, Edward Norton, Marlon Brando, and Angela Basset. Brando and Basset aren't in much of the movie, just a scene here and there. DeNiro and Norton are in all most all of the movie.
Pros: Actors De Niro, Norton and Brando give great performances. Cons: Angela Bassett is not on screen enough. Pacing was slow in places.
~~~~~~~~~ Theater = Entertainment ~~~~~~~~~
Theater going isn't on my regular to-do list. It
fell off around the time my first son turned one.
So when I do get released from parent shackles for
a night on the town, I...
Pros: Great Performances by great Actors Cons: Slow in places, not much actual action for action fans
As far as I am concerned, anything done by Steve Buscemi, Forrest Whittaker or Edward Norton is well done. Okay, so Buscemi disappointed me with Armageddon, and Whittaker with Battlefield Earth, but Norton hasn't disappointed yet. I found...
Pros: Edward Norton plays a retard Cons: Some unwanted generalizations
I've been a fan of mafia-style movies my entire life, starting with a strong affinity for the classic Goodfellas I had when I was about eight then leading up to Casino which has to be one of the best films I've ever seen done with a mob atmosphere...
Pros: The acting. Much of the directing Cons: Old story. Slow in the middle. Predictable end.
There is nothing new under the sun, or so the good book says. The story of The Score is nothing new. You've seen this story many times before. What makes this movie different, however, is how well it has been done (in places). From the look of...
The Score is another movie in a recent trend to make a modern day Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. Unfortunately, Robert DeNiro is not Robert Redford and Edward Norton sure as hell isn't Paul Newman. Bob and Ed are both great actors, but they are...
Pros: Two-thirds of the star power is fantastic. Cons: Marlon Brando is the other third.
Is there still anyone on Earth who doesn't dig Robert DeNiro? Universally accepted as one of our planet's finest living actors, this is a guy who can do almost anything. I say 'almost' because I was one of the 11 humans who made it all the way through...
The Score is a suspense thriller that stars 3 of the greatest actors from the last 3 generations as thieves pulling off one last heist. We have from the days of old Marlon Brando (The Godfather, Superman), then from the last generation ...
Pros: The sparking chemistry of De Niro, Brando and Norton is almost palpable. Cons: Formulaic script and occasionally the pace is excrutiatingly slow.
This high-tension crime thriller is propelled by the three-generational star power of Robert De Niro, Marlon Brando and Ed Norton.
In the opening sequences, set during a festive party at an elegant Boston estate, an aging thief,...
Pros: Screen legend actors; good story; engaging movie Cons: Heist movie, and there are only so many ways to do a heist movie
The Score is a gust of fresh air sweeping through the stale confines of this year’s summer movies. Refreshingly, it combines excellent acting with a good script that not only contains some solid suspense but also, (gasp!) character development....
An older thief is set to retire, but he is blackmailed into one last heist by a young, cocky thief. Everyone double-crosses everyone in this non-stop ...More at HotMovieSale.com
