Saw this on opening night, expecting a good, scary movie about the serial killings in London. We got a movie about a drug-using detective on the trial of an elusive mad man. The movie was almost always set at night, which is when "Jack the Ripper"...

This is such a great movie about Jack The Ripper. And with Johnny Depp in the movie, it made it an even better movie!!! It makes you sit on edge, and at the end of the movie, it totally screws with your head.

When i rented the movie From Hell, i was expecting a horror/drama type histortical movie about Jack the Ripper. What i got instead was a drawn out, boring, obscene movie that focuses around the prostitutes the movie includeds. The only plus in the entire movie is Johnny Depp's performance as inspector Frank Abberline. I would not recommend this movie unless you are looking are an obscene and overdone movie.
