Pros: Interesting overt eroticism. Some reasonable performances. Cons: Makes no sense if you are unfamiliar with the source material.
Life here at the Benny Ford center hasn't been easy for a star of my caliber. No cushy suites with Godiva chocolates on the nightstand and fresh gladioli in the vases every morning. Instead, I share my spartan quarters with Niki and Mo, two other...

Pros: A few groovy gore sequences, some truly hilarious performances. Cons: It's not a comedy.
After all of the hardship and tumult surroundung this production, it would be great to announce that Queen of the Damned somehow turned out to be a fun little horror flick. Unfortunately, that’s not even almost the case, and the only real...

Pros: Stuart Townsend. Soundtrack. Cons: Acting, script, costumes that Jesse wore, etc..
I am a huge fan of Anne Rice. My favorite book has always been Queen of the Damned. I was thrilled when I found out that a movie adaption was coming out in theaters. It was released on February 22, 2002. I remember that day like it was yesterday....

Pros: Powerful soundtrack, interesting story (if you never read Rice's books) Cons: Confused, inaccurate story (if you read Rice's books)
Believe it or not, there are people who haven't read The Vampire Chronicles by Anne Rice.
I am not one of them. I have read both Interview with the Vampire and The Tale of the Body Thief. However as someone who has only...

Pros: Cinematography, Director, Acting, Lestat, Jesse, Character, Dialogue, Music, SFX, Costume Design, Aaliyah, Plot Cons: None
The Queen of the Damned - the very big Lestat, it is the wide-awake vampires thinking. (Different the other one)"I won’t want to be a vampire. I do not reflect that be true.” The dramatist since parable was histrionic. The ...

Pros: To see Aaliyah acting in compatability between good n evil, amazing ! Cons: Not enough of the really slow exhilerating ballads, some noise though.
Anne Rice's video version of "Queen of The Damned" starring the late great Hip Hop singer Aaliyah and Stuart Townsend, an Irish hottie that sizzles as LeStat de Lioncourt (a French nobleman turned to the lunar cycle and its lifestyle), directs ...

Pros: some nicely shot scenes, the music Cons: everything else
I had been waiting for this movie for a year now. From the moment I heard that it was in production, I was ecstatic. However, tonight I finally understand what true disappointment feels like.
Background: The movie, in an attempt to...

Pros: Music was appropriate for the genre. Vampires! Cons: Everything else
Having loved every minute of the book "Queen of the Damned" written by one of the best gothic/vampire/horror writers of our time and having enjoyed the movie rendition of "Interview with the Vampire," I had high hopes for this theatrical installment of ...

Pros: Interesting and effective way to adapt two novels to screen. Cons: BIG liberties taken with the author's storyline.
I wanted to see this as soon as it came out. I've gobbled all of Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles and good or bad, I have loved them all. If I get attached to a series, I tolerate the excellent along with the mediocre if the story moves along.

Pros: Decent effects, Aaliyah's surprising creepiness Cons: Let's see....so much to say...
Okay, why did I see this movie? Oh right, it's my friend's fault! I had full intention of seeing Dragonfly this past Friday; however, upon arriving at the movie theater, my friend let out a gasp.
"What's wrong?" I ask
"Queen of the Damned...

Pros: Reasonably good photography and special effects. Cons: Everything else: plot, dialogue, acting, you name it.
I've seen a whole bunch of vampire flicks and the one fact that keeps QUEEN OF THE DAMNED from being the worst, or one of the ten worst, is simply that the competition for that superlative is so great. This movie was generally advertised as ...

Pros: Aaliyah in fangs Cons: Lestat a brunette
How many things could they get wrong? They should have just changed the title to ANNE RICE BE DAMNED. This wasn't based off of anything I've every read by her. It got to a point in the movie where I just started to think ... 'Okay, they're just making...

Pros: Not the disaster that had been feared. Cons: Not a particularly good movie.
For months, rumors had persisted that Queen of the Damned, the screen version of Anne Rice's novel, was headed straight for video. Now, in the wake of star Aaliyah's untimely death last August, Warner Bros. has bitten the bullet and unleashed the...
