Filled with great computer animation, this is a movie that also contains a solid story. Unlike its sequel, it is rich in character development, and is consistently funny. Its PopCulture references are right on target and highly hilarious.

The main characters are perfectly cast. Ray Romano voiced Manfred the Mammoth. His lackadistic way of speaking was ideal. John Leguizamo gave a special spark as Sid the Sloth, with his high vocal energy. Denis Leary (which i love..) was fierce as Diego the Sabertooth, giving him adequate life with his sarcastic big jerk persona.


In comparison to most CGI movies, this one excels. It is a beauty to view, and a jester of true hilarity. Plus, the script is solid for adults to enjoy as well as the kiddos.

This an absolutely delightful, warm, funny, good hearted movie. My 2 year old son loves it. Sends some important messages about how we should treat living creatures which may have to be explained to little ones. Brought tears to my eyes.

One rainy day, my friend and I decided to watch a movie, but couldn't figure out which one. She pointed out Ice Age and since she really wanted to see it, I gave it. It ended up being a very good, funny and entertaining movie.The plot of the movie is good, though it's not really for small kids, it's more for grown-ups. The movie is fun to watch, and you can watch it with whoever you want to. It's suitable for children.

Ice Age was Oscar nominated for Best Animated Feature last year, and it deserved more prices like art direction, visual effects, score and song.
Ice Age has many great jokes for both adult and kids, the characters are unforgettable, and there is memorable scenes, especially performed by a rodent.
Three animals takes on a journey with a baby from a human village, and they have to fight weird birds, and wild saber tooth tigers, face the forces of nature, and take on a roller coaster ride in a ice cave.
In the meanwhile are the scene stealing rodent going out on his own adventures too, and he is chasing his beloved acorn.
The rodent ends up on a tropical island at the end of the movie, where his chase after acorns continues.
The wacky humor (There is some few potty jokes) and the fights may upset small kids, but you and your kids are free for singing and dancing animals and humor.

Cons: Not for younger kids

If you like Lion King, you will like this. It's not exactly like Lion King obviously, but has the same feel to it. Good family movie - definitely for a little older child. There are some mature themes throughout the movie, a bit dark for younger kids. Overall, I enjoyed it and have watched it several times.

Pros: Very good for kids in 3rd-5th grade. Has some facts as well as humor.
Cons: Some parts may be too much for younger children.

Ice Age is a funny comedy for children and adults. My family watched it and enjoyed the funny characters! One character, the squirrel said nothing but was probably the most humorous part with his dumb mind. Some parts are sad, and just when you are feeling sorry for the whole group's loss, something very heartwarming happens and it makes the whole movie better.
