Do I need to rewrite my whole spiel on Led Zeppelin? For that matter, did I need to write it the first time? If you like Led Zeppelin, youre already well aware of the aura of mystery, musical genius, and high-octane energy. If you...
Pros: Everything right about live blues-based rock and roll Cons: ...
Now this is how it always should have been... For years, fans have waited for something that would truly represent what Led Zeppelin was in a live setting. The 1976 concert film The Song Remains The Same, culled from three nights at New ...
Pros: Mesmerizing performances on disc 2 Cons: Excessive jamming on disc 1
As a young lad of sixteen, I was fortunate enough to witness the spectacle of Led Zeppelin at their pinnacle during their visit to Seattle's Kingdome in 1977. This dvd set, simply titled "Led Zeppelin" brings back memories so vividly etched: hearing a...
Pros: 5.1 sound, John Bonham in all his glory, and 49 minutes of Earls Court Cons: ?? Maybe that it's not in widescreen. Doesn't come with a Page satin dragon suit.
For Zeppelin fans who do not collect bootlegs, the new Led Zeppelin DVD will be a revelation. Even those of us do collect can't deny the power of this collection, as assembled by Jimmy Page himself. The chance to see and hear Zeppelin in this clarity and...
Pros: Incredible live footage.
Awesome songs which highlight each member's skills. Cons: Some weak songs.
Some songs drag on for too long.
Led Zeppelin is considered one of the greatest rock and roll bands of all-time. Nearly all rock bands that followed Zeppelin attempted to be just like them. The evidence of Led Zeppelin's supremacy over rock and roll also holds true in record sales. ...
Pros: Rock n' Roll's best guitar player Jimmy Page shows why he is the top dog. Cons: Some grainy footage, but understandable.
Legendary guitar virtuous Jimmy Page started out in the 1960s as a studio musician. He later joined the Yard Birds. After that gig he returned to the studio but wanted to put together the ultimate rock band. His search took him north of London where ...
Pros: Led Zeppelin, actual footage, good sound, amazing performances Cons: Grainy footage, sporadic filming
I bought this DVD for my dad who has always loved Led Zeppelin. I really enjoyed watching it with him and it provides a good look at what Led Zeppelin was like in concert for those who weren't around when they toured. There are hours of actual footage ...
When I first seen the new Zeppelin dvd in stores I had to get it right away,I was certainly not disapointed from disk 1 to disk 2 this is classic Zeppelin at their best. This is by far the best sounding concert dvd I have ever heard.I don't want to sound like an old fart but they really don't make music like this anymore, not for me anyway. From Robert Plants screaming vocals,Jimmy Pages amazing guitar solo's,John Bonhams pounding assault on the drums to John Paul Jones amazing bass playing together they are truly hammer of the gods.I think every young musician today should watch this dvd and learn what rock should sound like. There are other great bands from the past like The Who,Pink Floyd,Rolling Stones,Beatles etc.. But my favorite will always be Led Zeppelin and this dvd is the living proof of it.
Great Led Zep Footage, Bad Audio Mix by creepydreams ,Jan 03 '06
Pros: Awesome DVD, gives you an idea how great Led Zep was right from the start Cons: Many audio problems with high-end audio hardware. Will exchange DVD?
Let me start by saying that this is a great DVD package, very good video footage and song selection, A .
I am having severe audio skip problems with 3 different DVD players, 2 of them are brand new. I was baffled until I started watching my receiver, during the audio problems. the audio feed ( coaxial digital going to a high-end receiver ), keeps switching audio modes, between 5:1 and DTS, sometimes as many as 20 times per song. No other concert DVD that I have does this? Even when I setup this DVD for PCM stereo, the audio skips ( changes modes ), but the picture stays perfect. Could I have gotten a bad DVD?
Other than this, this Led Zep package is awesome!
Thank you Jimmy!
Led Zeppelin: Greatest Rock Band Of All Time! by lamb6of6god6 ,Sep 12 '04
Pros: Everything Cons: Nothing
I have the movie they put out "The Song Remains The Same" and it is awesome but this DVD truely shows how great Led Zeppelin are live. The running time is 5 hours and 20 minutes of rare live performances and never before seen interviews and footage. I bought this DVD set because I have been in love with Led Zeppelin's music for a long time and I just had to experience them live through this DVD. I wasn't alive to see them live and this DVD set does a great job to fully show me how Led Zeppelin were live. These DVD's show Led Zeppelin performing 30 songs from various venues such as "Royal Albert Hall" 1970 and "Knebworth" 1979. The extras include "Communications Breakdown Promo", "NYC Press Conference" and many, many more things. My favorite part of this whole DVD set is the Immigrant Song played live in 1972 on the second DVD. If you love Led Zeppelin like I do then get this DVD set especially if you never got to see them live.
