Pros: Bonus features. Cons: This isn't really Swan Lake.
Now that Mattel's Barbie in Swan Lake merchandise is almost completely unavailable, it is almost safe to let your child watch this movie. I would advise going out to see an actual production of the ballet first though, or the first time you do, you ...
Barbie of Swan Lake on DVD is great. My 2 year old daughter watches it at least 2 or 3 times per week. She fell in love with it at first sight. I enjoy it myself and I am 24 years old. The graphics are detailed and beautiful. The music is classical, ...
Pros: Graphics, story line, theme, characterization, music Cons: None
This DVD was a very pleasant surprise. We first watched it after it was recommended to us from parents of a daughter our age (8). Although we were cynical at first, we viewed it gratuitously from the free movie rental section, but then decided we ...
Pros: Very entertaining great for children of all ages. Cons: I cant think of any other than I have seen this film a million times.
This is a wonderful cartoon that my little girls love and watch over and over again it is very entertaining to them. The story is told or narrated by Barbie and she is telling it to her lil sis Kelly. Her baby sister is afraid of her very first overnight ...
Break out the ballet slippers. by nuketax ,Dec 27 '03
Pros: Lasts about 45 minutes. Not too long or short.
Very appealing to the eye. Cons: The young characters had the same faces. The only different was the hair and clothing.
This DVD was bought as a Christmas present for my 3 year old daughter. She has just recently discovered all the Barbie toys that are out on the market. When she opened the gift she was thrilled! We have had the movie for 3 days and have watched it at least 5 or 6 times.
The DVD runs about 45 minutes and has extra options to look at. We especially like the part that will display the characters doing there individual dances. My daughter puts on her ballet slippers and tries to imitate what they are doing. It really breaks the ballet moves down to a lower level. My daughter is still too young to copy the moves, but she loves thinking that she is doing the same thing.
I personally have never been to a real ballet production, so I am not able to compare the movie to the real "Swan Lake" ballet. The Disney movie Swan Princess is the same storyline. Obviously, it has some things that are different, but it is the same basic story.
I would definitely recommend this DVD to anyone that has a daughter that likes music and/or dance.
Pros: My kids loved this movie, it is great for girls and boys from ages 1-8. Cons: none, it was a great movie for kids, and adults!
My daughter noticed this movie last year and had to have it, now she owns all three Barbie movies. We watch it at least 5 times a week, our children are always wanting to watch it, they love the dancing and try to act out what they are seeing even though they can't they love trying to do what the characters are doing....
It gets them actively involved instead of just watching, my kids have learned what ballet is and they really like the plot of the movie, and since it is Barbie they love it even more...
I would recommend this movie for every parent with a daughter, to teach them that it is great to dance and get their minds away from all the violence in the world...
There is a plot to the story but it is nothing like the cartoons you see on t.v. now days...
Barbie magically comes to life in her third animated movie, Barbie of Swan Lake. Barbie stars as Odette, the baker s daughter who follows a unicorn in...More at Buy.com Marketplaces
