Pros: Great atmosphere, creepy, great stories. Cons: Few and far between. A couple times the dialogue was hard to understand.

A Rare Low Budget Horror Treat by mrmordrid75 ,Oct 16 '03
Pros: Great story & great use of budget. Cons: Shot on video
I was pleasantly surprised after viewing The Shunned House since the distributor is basically known for putting really bad low budget horror. Even though this is a ultra low budget movie that is shot on video it does not go beyond its means but, uses its budget very effectively! The story involves a writer and his girlfriend who come to the house to basically write about its history of madness, murder and mysterious disappearances. While watching the movie we are treated to disturbing stories about the house's history that seem to cross into the house's present. This may seem a little confusing at first since the stories start and stop without warning. But, as you go further into the film you find the that the past and the present seem to be merging.
The acting in the film is ok and the effects while being pretty simple serve up some pretty disturbing imagery!
I would highly recomend this movie to any horror fan and tell any movie lover to approach this movie with a open mind and accept it for what it is.
