Pros: Some nice visuals and nifty story ideas.... Cons: but the ideas are mishandled; CGI effects also sub-par generally speaking
If there's one movie in the entire filmography of Japanese giant monster Godzilla that I would be perfectly OK to say is a complete throw-away film, this would be it. This fact alone is pretty painful to say, what with directorial duties being ...
Pros: Improved effects, better than average plot, good monster fight scenes. Cons: CGI could be better.
When people watch Godzilla movies, the last thing that’s usually on their mind are deep and meaningful metaphors. You want symbolism? Go read Dickens. Godzilla is supposed to be meaningless entertainment, something fun to watch on a Saturday ...
Pros: Good Plot, main Characters well done, Cons: other characters still campy
The Plot: An officer in the Japanese Defense Force is giving a briefing to his men when he gets a message that a US nuclear sub has disappeared. Meanwhile BS Digital Q Reporter (think National Enquirer TV) is doing a story on a monster in a ...
Pros: Mothra looks good, interesting concept Cons: King Ghidorah, in every aspect, concpet unrealised
I really dont think Ive ever went into a Godzilla movie, hell I cant think of many movies full stop, with higher expectations than I did approaching Godzilla, Mothra & King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack(hereby referred to ...
Pros: A good mix of thoughtfulness, humor, monster battles, and cheesiness. Cons: Slightly unclear premise. And is anyone else tired of plucky reporters in need of rescue?
The best thing about the so-called American Godzilla movie is that it spurred Toho, the Japanese owners of Godzilla, to reinvent Godzilla. Tossing traditional Godzilla mythology to the winds, director Shusuke Kaneko brews up a new Godzilla mythos ...
Pros: Interesting story, good monster costumes. Cons: Sappy ending.
Yet another of the alternate universe Godzilla flicks. This one, like the last, only really acknowledges the '54 original (and also makes a brief reference to the American movie). Once again, Godzilla isn't a good guy, but it seems to go a step further ...
Godzilla, Mothra and King Ghidorah by dayfil1 ,Jan 07 '07
Pros: fast moving, special affects were excellent, human interest all throughout Cons: would have liked even more special affects, more power to Mothra
I was overwhelmed by the special effects especially in the latter part of the movie. I have been a Godzilla and Mothra fan since day one and was totally affected by this movie more than any other of this kind. I know this stuff is not real but I love imagining it is, and the way this movie was made helped me fantasize that it was real. I particularly enjoyed the religious/human aspect of this movie intertwining religious beliefs all throughout the film. Loved how the defender monsters kept reinventing themselves to help destroy Godzilla.
