Pros: great acting, interesting story, well-written, interesting commentary Cons: please don't say this is the last one!

Must see for all young men by tradmom2 ,Jan 27 '06
Pros: entertaining, exciting and valuable Cons: hoping for more episodes!
This series is exceptional, exciting and entertaining. I recommend this series highly for young men who lack practical wisdom because of their youth. Grant it this is a historical piece (Napoleonic Era) the exercise of virtue is timeless! The main character, Hornblower, in each episode takes us along on his perilous journey. What resonates loudly is that Hornblower always ends up standing tall and still breathing! How does he do it? Repeatedly we watch him exercise faith, hope, charity, fortitude, justice, prudence and temperance. Hornblower is shown through out this series to be a model of honor and a man to be respected and admired. Someone every young man ought to be introduced to.
The storyline, characters and settings keep the viewer involved and very entertained. It is a favorite among all four boys in our household. It was selected originally for the historical content. Yet it is and warmly welcomed as a regular selection in our home.
