Pros: Nope. Not any at all. Cons: Direction. That it exists.
Occasionally a movie comes along that pushes one’s ability to remain composed, and tests the limits of classifying stupidity. ‘The Perfect Score’ is such a movie, but don’t think that it’s by virtue of the fairly uninteresting fact that it is merely a ...
Pros: good cast, interesting premise Cons: caper not really dramatic, story doesn't make you care about characters enough, weak development
Every year, thousands upon thousands of high school students have to take the SAT tests to help decide what they are going to do next. Whether it be to attend college, a community school, or to play professional sports, everyone takes these tests to ...
The SATs (Scholastic Aptitude Test) is the most critical test of anyone’s young life in high school. The success of your test will guarantee you a chance to go to the best school you can go to but is it really worth it? Well no matter how smart you ...
Pros: A good cast and a fun script combine to make an entertaining film. Cons: Rarely rises above its formula and surprises us.
The Breakfast Club meets The Italian Job. I could essentially describe this film with just that line, but to do so would detract from a fairly clever script which makes the most of its formulaic limitations, and in particular it would ...
Pros: Acting Cons: Plot, lack of understanding regarding the SAT
Theres something about being made by MTV that sets a movie apart. Its sort of like having a G rating. I lower my expectations coming into it. I was still disappointed with this movie. The basic premise is that a group of six students ...
Pros: Interesting plot, Funny, Well-acted, DVD bonus features Cons: Light on character
Say what you will, but sometimes surprisingly good movies come out of unlikely sources. Every now and then, I find myself surprised by the quality of a movie that seems like it would underwhelm me. MTV, for example, does not have a great track record ...
Pros: Two mildly interesting performances by Scarlett and Leo score well. Cons: The rest of this movie fails big time to make the curve.
Let me just address that that the front cover praise by Jack Garner of the Gannett News Service is one for the quote wh-re record books: "'The Breakfast Club' meets 'Ocean's Eleven.'" That's a bold statement to make when the movie in question is THE ...
Pros: Character interaction is increasingly growing more effective. Cons: The ending fell short.
The comedy was not well done.
"The Perfect Score" gets some passing grades for acting but ultimately flunks the final. Starring the "It Girl" of the moment, Scarlett Johansson ("Lost in Translation," "Girl With a Pearl Earring"), in a role she signed on for before she became ...
Pros: Overall good plot... Cons: Typical "teen" movie cliches...
I just saw this movie tonight and I have to say it's actually pretty good for a teen movie. The audience was a mix of ages and it got a good response at the end. I found myself laughing at all the funny parts and holding my breath at all the dramatic ...
Pros: Filled with teen comedy, and lots of suspense.Great movie for teens from ages 13 to 18. Cons: Adults won't like this film because some of the comedy is aimed more for teens.
The Perfect Score a film about six kids who try to steal the sat answers. The film starts out with two kids Kyle and Matty,Kyle takes the test the first time and gets a score of a 1020.To some people thats not a horrible score, but to a kid who wants to ...
Perfect Score does not score big by Mari_112 ,Feb 28 '04
Pros: Interesting concept, funny, good performances from the entire cast Cons: Too short, cliche ending
This movie had a lot of promise. Teenagers can certainly relate to the pressure of the SATs, and the lengths one might go to if they had a chance at a perfect score.
Though it had a few laughs (especially because of girl-obessed stoner Roy), the movie leaves much to be desired. I did like the way the characters who seemingly had nothing in common banded together to achieve a common goal, and learned more about themselves and what they really wanted from life in the process. But despite the fact that the acting was good and the characters somewhat believable, the movie felt too short and delivered a very "preachy" message. My friend and I left the theater thinking, "that's it??"
Basically, don't waste your money at the theater. This one's a rental.
If it were a student, it would pass, barley! by moviezig89 ,Jul 23 '04
Pros: Um none really, I smiled a few times Cons: Bad humor, less than OK acting, dumb plot, plain stupid
The Perfect Score did look somewhat dumb, but it was a lot worse than I thought! This is that movie where the kids try to steal the results of the SAT tests...um yeah so let's talk: I smiled twice or three times max. Done with the positivies, so now we can move on to the negatives: Acting, pretty horrible, ecspecially the basketball player who seemed to have no emotion at all and was reading the script for the first time. The movie has horrible gags that are not funny, like I said I smiled twice, and smiling is a WHOLE LOT different than actually laughing or chuckling. The movie blows, and why the heck was Scarlett Johanson even in it? Anyway, don't see it, it is a pointless ride, and at the end, the kids end up not using the results they get and oh man there are some romances too that are hardly explainable...grrr...If I had to give this movie an SAT score...I would give it maybe a 300, if I was being nice!
Pros: Maybe if I try real hard, I can think of one. Cons: Dumb and stupid.
We rented this because there was not much else late on a rainy Saturday afternoon. Thank goodness we had a discount coupon, I would have hated to pay full rental price.
The premise was too hard to believe. I have helped give the SAT and know what length the college Board goes through to prevent comprising the test. No way any of this could happen.
The acting might be the only saving feature, but this is a stretch.
Would not recommend this movie, except maybe if you have nothing to do, or a teenager with hopes of scoring high on the SAT without making a real effort in your High School classes.
There is much better out there in the world. Don't waste your time or money on this video/movie!
