Pros: Graphic Visuals, Excellent Plot and Dialogue, Great Acting, Strong Action Scenes. Cons: None.
In 2004, Oldboy won numerous awards. Most notably, at Cannes, Oldboy finished second to Fahrenheit 9/11 (an obvious mistake in my humble opinion). My opinion is seconded by Quentin Tarentino who lobbied for Oldboy, but failed to ...

Pros: Revenge movie Cons: Incest presented as acceptable? Yeah, that's a con.
Like the great revelation that Soylent Green is made out of people, "it's people!" there we are at the end of OLDBOY and we find out the hero has been having sex with his daughter. His daughter! And strangely enough, it seemed OK. OLDBOY is the ...

Pros: Mysterious suspense, action-packed, horrific inventive torture, stylized Cons: Runs a bit long
Like an old memory based in both surreal and logical demise, Oldboy reminds us of how unrealistic and unreliable reality can be. Held for fifteen years in a secret holding cell hotel by an anonymous kidnapper, main character Daesu Oh ...

Great movie
by edrush ,Mar 03 '05
Pros: Awesome. . Shocking. Original. Great acting Cons: Flawless in my opinion
Based on the acclaimed Manga comic book, Oldboy is a sharply made, slickly edited revenge thriller which sees Choi Min-sik playing Dae-su Oh, a man who has been locked up for the past 15 years.
When he gets out he creates a path of mayhem trying to escape the web of his enemies. then the plot thickens.
I hold this film up as a true masterpiece, and unquestionably one of the best thrillers to be made yet.
