SW: Revenge of the Sith by trazomfreak ,Jun 01 '05
Pros: Special Effects, action, fighting scenes Cons: Some of the acting, no more Star Wars to look forward to.
Well, this seems to be the best of the (new) trilogy so far. Better story, special effects and it is visually better. However, the acting was better on the first of the series. I think they made the whole Anakin/Padme thing too lovey dovey. The action is great! Yoda Rocks! This third of the 3 explains a lot to what 'will' happen. But Star Wars fans, you won't be dissapointed. The only really bad thing about this whole thing is that...there isn't anymore Star Wars to look forward to. :(
Star Wars Poem Review - No Spoilers by donackerman ,May 19 '05
Pros: Star Wars is back! George Lucas is finally back! Cons: This was worthy but George Lucas should be ashamed of Episodes I and II.
Star Wars Poem Review - No Spoilers
I'd never spoil a movie. Well, I just got home from a preview screening of Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith.
Going in, I was worried about being teased. Episodes I and II were so weak, I hate to consider them in the same context as the Luke Skywalker Star Wars. Also, I was teased because of the potential that this could actually be the best Star Wars movie since The Empire Strikes Back. But then again, I was worried I'd see more Jar-Jar Binks and that's not a good thing.
In the end, here's my poem:
Stunning visuals
Great story, solid story
Blinding battles
A movie worthy of its name.
The Best Revenge Of Them All by deathlock ,May 28 '05
Pros: special effects, fights and action sequences, Yoda, kashyyk, the duel, everything Cons: none,
First of all i must say that going to see this movie i was spoiler filled, but many surprises lied ahead. Put into words this movie is great. The acting has never been better with McGregor and McDiarmid stealing every scene they are in. The action sequences ans fights are amazing specially the opening battle, the duel and Yoda.
George Lucas has pretty much outdone himself with this one. This is by far the best star wars movie of all time. John Williams has produced a fantastic score. The music reaches all levels of ansiety, suspense, action and sadness. It really captures the feeling of the movie.
The duel between Yoda and the Emperor is one of the best action sequences in the movie. The duel between Anakin and Obi-Wan was very sad at the end (thanks to the music) because YOU feel so betrayed by Anakin, but you also feel sympathy for him. Padme's funeral is the one of the most memorable scenes in the movie.
Go and see Revenge Of The Sith because you won't be disappointed.
Revenge of The Sith is so good that i say it will win about 5-7 Academy Awards.
It was worth it... for about 5 minutes by fcasas ,Jun 07 '05
Pros: If you like special effects, this is the movie. Cons: The plot, the characters, the need to explain all in 15 min.
It is a shame that technology has advanced so much that Lucas relies way to much on it to tell a story. Star Wars is for kids, I know, and it should not be taken seriously, but when a movie has so much publicity, it must deliver! at least in some respects.
Where should I start? Lets see... the characters: all are undefined; the Jedis are just a bunch of know-it-all's that are blind to what happens in front of their eyes. Anakin seems to live in a parallel dark-ages world in which medicine does not exist, the only interesting character is the emperor, but we know that bad guys tend to be more interesting; and by the way, Darth Vader was a wimp.
Technologically, the movie seems rendered, false. It lacks the realism of other movies shot 20 years ago! It is also absurd in many aspects. You have the technology to travel among the stars, but you ride on giant size iguanas.
The dialog is another big flaw. I don't know how an actor can deliver those lines without twitching. Obi Wan keeps telling stupid jokes mixed with dark references. Writing is not Lucas' best attribute.
George Lucas, please retire now!!! by mjwynn100 ,Nov 06 '05
Pros: Good special effects Cons: The actors ruin the good special effects.
Yes, the latest Star Wars film is out and available (I say the latest because frankly there is bound to be more) and what can one say about it. Well, first of all you get to see another Star Wars film, which is usually entertaining. This film was again entertaining, but frankly because of the poor acting standards, Anakin portrayed more as a troubled teenager than the Lord of all evil. To be honest, the use of irony is also poorly done. The only positive thing to come out of this film is that the special effects are quite impressive, and live up to their usual standard. All they have to do is replace the actors, who do not give a good account of themselves and this film would be a very good and memorable film. Unfortunately, they have picked extremely un-talented actors!!! Frankly, the film also relies too much on its special effects.
Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith- A Draccy Review by coldfiredraccy ,May 21 '05
Pros: Strong action sequences
Great special effects
Two and a half hours long- worth price Cons: Crammed in with hundreds of smelly fanatics
Geared towards Star Wars Fans
Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (ROTS) is a good movie, though it tends to be geared towards Star Wars fanatics. This movie is not one that I would recommend for someone who is not a raving fan of the Star Wars franchise. That said, I will give you the impressions of a Star Wars fan in regards to these movies- though it is almost like the Dark Side for me to try to be impartial.
ROTS is true to the new vision that George Lucas has for the Star Wars franchise in that it follows the new formula he has created for making children's movies. I was surprised at the level of graphic death scenes and dismemberment scenes included in the movie.
For true fans of Lucas and his Star Wars, there is much Jedi goodies. Some of my favorite scenes in the movie involve Darth Sidious and his clickingly evil laugh.
Pros: Special effects, Yoda, and Obi-Wan. Oh and Special effects. Cons: The bad acting of the "main" characters and inane love scenes.
My friend commented that the problem with the film, the film series, and with Lucas in general is he obviously has none around to critique anything he does. I.e., "Gee George the dialogue is really shallow and false sounding." or what should have been said long ago, "I don't think Jar-Jar is a cool character, unlike Boba Fett.
That being said I thought that it was an ok film, but my expectations were for something better. The special effects were great, but I didn't care about any of the characters except Yoda and Obi-Wan. It was sad to see Natalie Portman deliver such inane lines, "I'm so beautiful only because I'm so in love." As far as watching a good man turn evil, you don't really get a sense of that - more like a spoiled and self-centered brat throws a tantrum.
Revenge of the Sith is the BEST Star Wars Movie by miaminick ,May 27 '05
Pros: Amazing special effects, Surprising scenes, Properly placed humor, Great battle scenes
Cons: None
I went into the theater thinking nothing can top Episode II, only to be pleasantly surprised. Lucas Films pulls another one out of their hats as they continue to put out the top movies. The feeling literally cannot be described. Definitely the top movie of the post-millennium era.
Pros: The action, acting, directing, and storyline of this movie are among the best of 2005. Cons: It's a shame that we had to wait 20 years for this masterpiece.
Revenge of the Sith is one of the best movies of 2005. Even if you're not a Star Wars fan, the action and story of this film will captivate you. If you are a Star Wars fan, you'll probably find this film to be the best of Lucas' series.
This Star Wars movies was the best yet. by eddie_maze2001 ,Jul 12 '05
Pros: The light saber battles was good and the ending was great. Cons: There was some info left out of the movie but overall it was good.
When i first watched star wars i got hooked, i couldn't wait for this one to come out, and when it did it was good it was all i thought it would be and more, i think if you have not watched this movie, you should go watch it, it is a must see.
Star Wars the Revenge of the Sith is a great movie by firefightsquad ,Nov 27 '05
Pros: Awesome action lightsaber battles, and great graphics. Cons: Not a lot of suspense.
I saw this movie in theaters and it is awesome. You have to buy this movie on dvd. It completes the star wars trilogy with flying colors. You can't not like this movie. There are great graphics and awesome action scenes. I myself love the lightsaber battles.
For those of you people that don't like very suspensefull movies but like action. This is your movie.
I really tried to get excited for this film. The first one was meaning less to me it talk to much about things I didn't care about. Second one had a nice but twisted love story so it was pretty cool and left me wanting more. So for the third one I was very excited but once I saw what it was about I wondered to myself why was anikin so strong and smart in a lot of other things yet so easily manipulated to go to the dark side. To me it could of been resolved by taking a seat with his wife and saying do you think this will happen do u want me to spend more time with you ect. But it does leave u hanging and it does make you want to see the rest of the movies again. I just did not like his turn to evil so uncreative it happens all towards the end.
Pros: Very good movie.
Cons: I didn't like the ending, but its only obvious it ends like that.
This movie has some excellent graphics. Its pretty good, its not boring, mostly action in the entire movie. And it finally shows why DARTH VADER turns to the dark side.
Lucas almost redeems himself- almost by yotaruvegeta ,Aug 12 '05
Pros: Great action, pg-13 level thrills and chills. Cons: Not hardcore enough. Plot is too convenient towards the end
If you've heard that this is the best of the three new Star Wars films, that is an absolutely correct assessment. Star Wars fans tend to lick Lucas' boots a bit too much, but I encourage a little bit of boot licking this time. Lucas dared to get a bit darker in this episode, but my problem is that he's too scared to get nastier than children can handle.
What I basically wish is that this was an alternate universe where George Lucas wasn't scared of getting every last dollar he can from every family on the planet, so he can make a hard pg-13 or r. I would have loved a hyperviolent Star wars, and it just didn't deliver completely.
Pros: Nice CG/I
The Corvette Cons: Writing
Director
CG
Lack of Plot
Revenge of the sith is a bad movie. Do not blame the actors, they did not know what they were getting into. The total and complete blame goes on Lucas and Lucas alone. He written 3 movies, and no one has stopped him. Revenge of the Sith is CG run amok, along with awful directing combined with terrible (barely 5th grade English) writing, makes for bad acting performances (not their fault) and a movie totally unconnected with emotion or tension. No part of this movie, did not make me interested, from the boring as hell introductory battle to the last scene it is a complete waste of time. Unfortunately, Star Wars gets a free ride because "it's Star Wars" but if this were any other movie, it would be not released by indie or mainstream distributer, and even if it was, it would not last past the weekend.
The Old Republic is in the middle of Clone Wars and rebellion threatens to break them apart from all sides. The Jedi council is concerned that Chancel...More at HotMovieSale.com
