Pros: Closes the saga in fine form. Cons: The lovey-dovey stuff is pretty purple.
I'll admit it: I have no idea how to open this review. Do I recount the numerous ways in which the two previous "Star Wars" chapters ("The Phantom Menace" & "Attack of the Clones") have been unjustly savaged by fans and critics alike? Do I profess my ...

Pros: Eye popping spectacle. Completion of a mythic cycle. Cons: Clunky dialogue. Wooden performances.
I have the most exciting news for you all. Joseph, my manager, has finally found a theatrical project worthy of my talents. I have just signed to play the part of Galadriel in the new musical version of The Lord of the Rings which will open soon ...

Pros: A stunning tale using human drama and special effects to great effect. Cons: Not High Drama in the Classical Cinema sense, but rousing entertainment with an archetypal message.
The more I watch STAR WARS, beginning with the first episode that came out way back in 1977, the more curious I am about
George Lucass father. The six-part story, released by Lucas over a 28-year span is, of course really centered around the ...

Pros: No Jar Jar dialogue! Overall, a better wrap-up than I had feared. Cons: Outcome is predictable and depressing. Dialogue doesn't sparkle (Lucas needed to hire a better writer).
As I begin to write this, I have not yet read any detailed reviews, printed or online, of Revenge of the Sith (written and directed by George Lucas). I wanted to write down my own first reactions after I saw the silly thing, without being unduly ...

Pros: Great special effects, great mix of action and humor, I loved it! Cons: nothing really
Before you read my review, it is important to note that this is the first of the Star Wars movies I have ever seen. Shocking, I know! I have nothing against the concept, Im just more of a historical/medieval movie gal, and just never got around to ...

Pros: Battles, Fights, Visual Effects, Score, Look, McDiarmird, McGregor, Christensen, & Yoda. Cons: Script Problems & Dialogue, Uninspiring Performances, & Loose Ends.
When George Lucas burst into the scene in the early 70s, he had already created two very memorable films in the 1970s, THX 1138 and American Graffiti in 1973. Then in the mid-70s, Lucas embarked on a film trilogy that marked his love of ...

Pros: Ian McDiarmid, Ewan McGregor; Dazzling fight sequences; epic conversion to the dark side Cons: Christensen and Portman still wooden; romance infinitely sappy
WAR! This opens the famous title crawl for the sixth (Third in the chronology) and by all accounts final installment in the "Star Wars" series in an overly dramatic, uncharacteristically blunt but nevertheless quite funny way. What this prepares viewers ...

Pros: Acting (You read that right), Characters (That, also.), Emotion (And that), Effects, Music, Story Cons: Left me wanting more, Some unanswered questions, Contradicts a little of the books
I did it! I finally did it! I finally got to see the final Star Wars movie, Episode III: Revenge of the Sith! Well, actually, I did it like six weeks ago; it’s just taken me this long to organize my thoughts enough to write a review. ...

Pros: Most loose ends are tied together - rather nicely. Great action sequences and riveting music. Cons: Chewie has very little screen time, no progressing Luke and Leia scenes.
Before I tackle the monumental task of reviewing this blockbuster film, come back with me to a simpler time. The year was 1977 and I sat inside Hollywood's Chinese Theatre to watch something I had never seen before. My brother had to sit alone a few ...

Pros: Lightsabers, visual effects, space battles, good acting, great screenplay/direction, it's STAR WARS, Darth Vader, Palpatine Cons: Campy at moments
Yes! I seem to be among the first to write a review on Revenge of the Sith (hereon known as "Rots"). Before I can review Rots, allow me to give you a better view of my Star Wars world. This review isn't coming from Joe Schmoe who is watching the SW ...

Pros: action, psychology, vast expansive special effects, good acting Cons: very dark and violent, contains flashy strobe lighting
This review contains spoilers For me I feel it is necessary to go in depth of the final act of the Star Wars series. I believe many fans already know the story of this film and how it fits together with the rest of the series. For me I ...

Pros: better plot, excellent action sequences, Christiansen much improved, McDiarmid's performance Cons: no chemistry between Portman and Christiansen, some of the plot points seem forced
It would be easy to jump down the throat of George Lucas and talk about all the faults of the second Star Wars trilogy. How Hayden Christiansen and Natalie Portman have no chemistry whatsoever, how wooden Portman looks in her ...

Pros: Production and direction. Cons: Acting and dialogue.
There’s something very wrong with this film. The more primal side of myself, which I have often discussed, wants to be in love with Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. Even though I know that I cannot recommend this film, there is ...

Pros: Jar Jar Binks has no lines at all. Cons: Hasty explanation for Obi-wan's post-mortem manifestations in Episodes 5 and 6 inserted as an afterthought
This month the last installments of the two institutions that have defined late-20th-century science fiction, Star Trek and Star Wars, were made available to fans. Rare indeed, however, is the fan who can love both institutions, for they have opposing ...

Pros: Improved acting, emotion, great amount of lightsaber fights (And Jar-Jar doesn't get any dialogue) Cons: Some dry and laughable dialogue, pacing at the beginning
The time was 6:15 not 12:00. It was P.M. not A.M.No one clapped or cheered at the end of the movie like they had the night before. And yet I still walked away from the theatre with an awesome sense of joy (for lack of a better word) and, as always with ...
